    Notes:

Limpert - William Valtin. A long time resident of the Stettler and Rowley areas, Mr. Bill Limpert passed away at the Stettler Hospital Complex in Stettler, Alberta on April 9th, 1991 at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 11 days. William Valtin Limpert was born July 29th, 1899 in Lewis and Clark County, just out of Augusta, Montana, U.S.A., a son of Harry Buckley Limpert and his wife Bertha Magdalena (Smith). He moved to Alberta with his parents in 1904 and they established their farm north of Delia.

He worked on the family farm and then on his own until 1945 when he moved to Stettler. He was employed at Jimmy's Hardware and then later moved to the Rowley district where he took up interior and exterior painting. He carried on in this activity until he was 85 years old. He became life long friends with many of the people he worked for. Bill knew all about hardships and hard work, but still enjoyed life and communicating with people.

He had a tremendous memory - from his love of reading books, and had a remarkable mind right up to his passing. He loved people, and had a fantastic sense of humor and loved to tell stories, and also enjoyed hearing them. His special interests included his love for music and dancing, which started in his early years when he played for the Bobby Hoy's Orchestra as a drummer. He was still drumming with the Heart Haven Band until his passing. Bill enjoyed exercising, walking, crafts - especially braiding and working with leather.

He was well known for repairing saddles, harness and tack. Bill had a love for animals, in particular, horses, and watching rodeos and sporting events. He loved the mountains and to go on trips with his friends. He appreciated being able to spend Christmas and Easter with family, relatives and friends. He was proud in being a Canadian and loved the Province of Alberta, but he never forgot his grass roots.

He was able to return to his birthplace in Montana in 1990 and had the pleasure of witnessing the Old Time Cattle Drive - highlighting the State of Montana's Centennial. He was also a colMontana artist, C.M. Russell. Mr. Limpert spent the past six years residing at Heart Haven Lodge in Stettler, which was one of the most enjoyable times of his life.

He kept himself busy and involved by helping in the kitchen at Heart Haven and volunteering in the Tourist Information Booth. He called it Heaven and Home. Mr. Limpert was predeceased by his father in 1933 and his mother in 1962 and also by two sisters, Bernice Jervis and Netta McKee and one brother Buckley Limpert. He is survived by his family of two daughters, Shirley Stroud of Calgary and Barbara Hennel of Stettler; his son Dean Limpert of Stettler; seven grandchildren Ken, Ron & Lyne Stroud, Brenda and Jodie Limpert and Todd and Stacey Hennel; four great-grandchildren Shawna, Brette, Alisha and Ty (Allan) and one brother, Ervie Limpert of Hanna; as well as his sisterin-law Dorothy Limpert of Delia and brotherin-law Sam McKee of Rowley; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services were held at the Brennen Funeral Chapel in Stettler on Friday, April 12, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Denholm officiating. The music was provided by the Stettler Senior Citizen's Choir under the direction of Gladys McBride. The selections were Beyond The Sunset and Mansion Over The Hill with Mr.

Doug McKay at the organ and Mr. Lloyd Lohr did the recitative. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium at Red Deer. Friend who wish, may make memorial tributes to the Canadian Cancer Society. Brennen Funeral Home Ltd. of Stettler was entrusted with the arrangements.
