    Death of Mrs. John Gampp

    The death occurred on Saturday last of Catharine Honderich, widow of the late John Gampp, in her 75th year. She had been in failing health for the last six months and passed away on Saturday evening. The late Mrs. Gampp was born in East Zorra in 1854 where she spent her childhood days. In 1875 she was married to John Gampp of New York State where they resided for one year. The following year they came to Ontario settling on a farm at Pine Hill, now known as the Pine Crest Fur farm. Later they moved on a farm about two miles east of Hamburg, known as Holland Mills, where they resided for 37 years. After retiring they moved with their son, Norman, to New Hamburg, where they spent their last days. Her husband predeceased her three years ago on March 28th, 1926. She leaves to mourn her death two sons and one daughter and one granddaughter, Norman and Emma of New Hamburg and Harvey, of Wilmot. Two brothers survive her, Moses Honderich of Crystal, Mich., and David of Manitoba, one infant child and three brothers predeceased her. The funeral was held from her late home on Tuesday, March 19 to Hostettler's church and cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Annie Honderich, Miss Clara Honderich, Mrs. Norman Honderich and Mr. William Honderich, all of Milverton, Mrs. Sarah Shantz of Weston, Mr. Wilmer Steel and Mr. Raymond Young of Humberstone, Mrs. Frank Weaver, of Port Colborne, Mr. Walter Gripp, Mrs. Norman Noyes, and Miss Elsie Beam of Stevensville and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones, of Bridgeburg.
