    KING, Rev. John R. "Jack"

    Suddenly, on Saturday, January 2, 1999, at the Brantford General Hospital, Brantford, in his 70th year. Dear father of Greg King and his wife Kim of Port Elgin, Kathy and her husband Ray Buehlow of Kincardine, Nancy and her husband Paul Blackwell of Alcona, Paul King and his wife Wendy of Kitchener and Jane and her husband David Kaminsky of Brantford. He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and brother, Don King and his wife Kathryn of New Dundee. Jack was an Anglican minister, for over 35 years and retired from St. James Anglican Church in Brantford. Friends will be received at LITTLE'S FUNERAL HOME, 223 Main Street East, Cambridge, on Tuesday, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted, at St. John's Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Wednesday, January 6, 1999, at 1 p.m. Interment in Preston Cemetery, to follow.

    JOSEPH A. KING

    PRESTON, March 2 --- A well-known resident of Preston for the past 43 years, Joseph Anthony King, familiarly known as "Joe," died at his residence 307 Guelph Street this morning. In his many years of residence here, the late Mr. King played on important and prominent part in municipal affairs and word of his passing was received with distinct regret. He was in his 79th year and had been ailing for some time. Born in Guelph, the late Mr. King was married on June 10, 1891, at Hepworth, to Hester Isabel Forrest, who survives him. On June 10, I941, Mrs. King and the late Mr. King celebrated their golden wedding anniversery. Forty three years ago Mrs. King and the late Mr King came to Preston from Guelph and Mr, King was associated with the Metal Shingle and Siding Co., now the Eastern Steel Products, for 31 years, being superintendent for 20 years. For the following 12 years he was assessor and collector for Preston, retiring from that municipal office last year owing to his health. A staunch member of St. John's Anglican Church, the late Mr. King has been people's warden for the past 77 years and secretary treasurer for 28 years, resigning the latter position in 1940. He was a life member of the Guelph Chapter and Preston Chapter, Royal Arch Masons A.F. and A.M. 50 years a post master of the lodge and a life member of the Preston Blue lodge A.F. and A.M. Surviving are his widow a daughter, Mrs. J. N. MacRae, of Galt; five sons, Charles, Robert, Loudon and Harold, all of Preston and Reginald of Cleveland. A son Leonard, died on active service in 1918. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.

    Mrs. Joseph King

    PRESTON -- Mrs. Joseph King, 92, a former resident of 307 Guelph St. Preston, died Sunday at Eventide Home, Galt, after one month illness. Mrs. King was the former Hester Isabel Forrest, and was born in Hepworth, She lived here for 60 years and was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, a life member of the Women's Auxiliary and past president of the Ladies Guild and also of the IODE. She was predeceased by her husband in 1843, three son; Lenard. Loudon and Robert and one daughter, Mrs. J. N. (Lillian) MrCrae. Surviving are three sons, Charles and Harold of Preston and Reginald of Cleveland. one brother Joseph of Vancouver, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The body is at Stager-Barthel Funeral Home. Funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m. at St. John's Anglican Church, Preston. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.
