    DAVID PHILIP

    PRESTON— David Philip, a real old soldier, veteran of the Boer War, who also saw action in the Sudan, passed away in the Galt hospital yesterday. He was in his 73rd year and had been in failing health since last fall. Mr. Philip, who was a wellknown member of this community, was born in Shotts, Lanarkshire, in Scotland and came to Canada 23 year's ago. Since that time he was employed as a pattern maker at Clare Bros., until last December, by faith he was a Presbyterian. Besides his wife, Elizabeth Parker, he is survived by one son David of Preston; two sisters and one brother in Scotland. The remains are resting at Gray's funeral home, 864 Queen street and the funeral service will be held at the home at 2.30 o'clock, Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Preston cemetery.
