    PRESTON - Ralph E. Wismer, 641 Dover St. S., died today at his residence. He was 60. Mr. Wismer was born in Preston and had resided here all his life. He was a model maker employed at the Canada Last Co. Ltd., for many years. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Rose Golding; two daughters, Mrs. Andre (Ruth Ann) Roy of Preston and Mrs. Jeffrey (Roberta) Wilbee of Galt: one sister, Mrs. Gary (Viola) Sipes of Hespeler and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Preston Park Lawn cemetery.

    Of Dover Street South, Cambridge, on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 88th year. Rose Golding, beloved wife of the late Ralph Wismer (1970) and the late Sid Thatcher (1989). Loving mother of Ruth Ann Roy and her husband Andy of Cambridge, Roberta Wilbee of London and step-daughter, Maureen Dunseath and her husband Paul of Ottawa. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Florence Golding. Mrs. Thatcher was born in Galt and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed as a store clerk with Paris Shop. She was a member of Knox Preston Presbyterian Church, Ladies Aid of Knox Presbyterian and the U.K. Club. Private family services were held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at the Barthel Funeral Home, Cambridge. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.

    PRESTON\emdash Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday for Mrs. Isaac Wismer, 77. of RR 1, Galt, who died Sunday at South Waterloo Hospital. The body will be at Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2: 00 p.m. Burial will be in Preston cemetery. Mrs. Wismer, the former Isabelle Holm, is survived by her husband, a son Ralph, Preston, and a daughter, Mrs. Garry (Viola) Sipes, RR 1, Galt. Other survivors are three brothers, Alvin, Preston: Buldan, Saskatchewan, and Claude, California: two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Tuner and Mrs. William (Pearl) Bidleman, both of Yale, Mich,: four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wismer was born near Hespeler and lived a short while in Preston before moving to Galt then to RR 1 Galt. She was a member of Wesley United Church.

    PRESTON - Mrs. Arthur Golding, 76, of 641 Dover St. S., Preston, died Sunday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. Mrs. Golding was the former Florence Barnard and was born in England. She had lived in Preston for 25 years and prior to that had resided in Galt for 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church and was active in many of the women's church organizations. She was a charter member of the Golden Rule Bible Class. She was predeceased by her husband in 1950. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Rose) Wismer of Preston, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Preston Park Lawn cemetery. Rev. A. I. Waters of St. Paul's United Church will officiate.

    HOLM, CYRUS

    The funeral of Mr. Holm, who died at Galt Hospital early Tuesday morning, February 20, 1906, after undergoing an operation for appendicitis, was held from his residence to Wanner's Cemetery on Thursday afternoon. He was in his 45th year and was well and favourably known in Hespeler. He leaves a widow and large family.

    Mrs. Matilda Holm

    The death occurred on Sunday, at the home of her son, Elton Holm, Hewitt street, of Mrs. Matilda Holm, in her 68th year, after a lingering illness. The deceased whose maiden name, was Matilda Cober and was born in Puslinch and had lived practically all her life in the district. Her husband, Siras Holm, predeceased her 23 years ago. She is survived by five sons, Elton and Alvin, of Preston; Ruldan of Witchekan, Sask., Claude of Yale, Mich., Earl of Hamilton, also five daughters, Miss Pearl Holm of Guelph, Mrs. Harry Higgins of Gooderich, Mich., Mrs Wallace Burrows of Eden Mills. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon, from the residence of her son, on Hewitt street, to Wanner's cemetery.

    HOLM, MATILDA (Nee Cober)


    The funeral of Matilda Cober, relict of Cyrus Holm, who died on Sunday, July 1, 1928, was held on Wed., July 4th at the home of her son, Elton Holm of 174 Hewat St. in Galt to Wanner's Cemetery. She was in her 68th year. Mrs. Holm was well known and the funeral was largely attended. Rev. A. O. W. Foreman, pastor of the United Church, was in charge of the services, which were held at the house. Pallbearers: Earl Holm of Hamilton; Alvin Holm of Preston; Wallace Burrows of Eden Mills; Elton Holm of Preston; Isaac Wismer and Ralph Wismer, both of Preston.

    -Information from the death certificate: Born in Puslinch Township on November 9, 1860, daughter of Jacob Cober and Mary Groh. Died age 67 years, 7 months and 22 days. Informant - her son, Elton Holm.
