J. Robert (Bob) Zarnke 1924 - 2008 Passed away at St. Mary's General Hospital, on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at age 84. Beloved husband of the late Elsie Zarnke; loved father of Robert and Gill, Jim and Wendy, David and Ruth Ann, Beth and Ed, Brian and Doreen, and daughter-in-law, Barb; loving grandpa of Tracey and Luke, Tyler and Jessica, Jeremy and Melissa, Jason and Jennifer, Kimberly and Tim, Andrew, Michelle, Laura, Alyssa, Steven and Lisa, and Kyla and Dean; great-grandpa of Rachael, Isaac, Jessica, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Tayla, Cole, Andrew, and Kate; dear brother of Eileen, Carl, and Carolyn. Predeceased by sisters, Kathleen and Ruth. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bob with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo this evening (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Service to celebrate Bob's life and faith will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd. S., Waterloo, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Judi Harris officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Zarnke, Elsie - Died at K-W Hospital, on Thursday, Nov. 25, 1993, age 71 years, of Waterloo. Mrs. Zarnke was born in Tobermory and was a daughter of the late Lily and Andrew Hopkins. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church and was retired from Wilfrid Laurier University Book Store. Beloved wife of J. Robert Zarnke; dear mother of C. Robert and his friend Gill, David and his wife Ruth Ann and Brian and his wife Doreen, all of Waterloo, Jim and his wife Barbara of London, Ont., and Beth and her husband Ed Goodwin of Kitchener. She is also lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren, Tracey and Tyler Godwin, Jeremy, Jason, Kimberly, Andrew, Michelle, Laura and Alyssa Zarnke; a brother, Tom Hopkins and his wife Shirley of Tobermory and a sister, Pearl and her husband Bert Hopkins of Wiarton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Cliff Craigie. Mrs. Zarnke's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 7-9 pm this evening (Thursday) and 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday. The funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Interment to follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
