Obituary of Delphine Martha Brown (nee Plomske)

Heaven just gained an angel. Delphine passed away peacefully at Trinity Care Village, Kitchener, on Saturday May 1, 2021 with her children able to tell her how much they loved her and that she can now be reunited with her husband Dick, her son Bruce, her great grandson Kieran, her son-in-law David, her mother and dad, all her siblings and many friends. We smile knowing she is being greeted by so many people she loved.

Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario to William and Emma (Koppitsch) Plomske and little sister to Irvin (Rose), Milton (Eleanor), Bill (Nel), Irene (John), Dorothy (Carl) and Arthur (Lenore). A loving childhood set the course for Delphine's love of family.
Delphine was married to Dick Brown in 1952 and together they built a remarkable family. Loving mother of Bruce (Gail), Brenda (David), Ken (Doris), Bob (Carey) and Marg (Gord). Cherished Grandma of Jared, Kelly (Tyler), Bradley (Vincci), Jaime (Josh), Mike (Sue), Chris (Lindsay), Julie (Mat), Chelsea (Nate), Lindsea and Kevin (Heather). Beloved by her 13 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren.

Delphine had a wonderful sense of humour. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, which she did every day and watching the Toronto Blue Jays. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and enjoying a great game of cards. Regardless of her opponent's age she was in it to win. She will be sadly missed by the many residents and wonderful staff at Trinity Care Village. Her legacy will be forever cherished.
Arrangements entrusted to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home. A private family service will take place with private interment at Parkview Cemetery. Notes:

Emil Vogelsang met Matthias Riener in New York City in 1873 and invited him to locate in Berlin. When Mr. and Mrs. Riener learned that there was a Swedenborgian Church here they decided to come over. Mr. Riener had learned the cutter's trade in Vienna and after his arrival here he began business as a merchant tailor in Berges & Shelley's former stand in Frederick Street. In 1893, Mr. Riener rebuilt the structure. The contractor piled 15,000 bricks in the street. One Saturday morning, the farmers' wagons caused a traffic jam. A ruffled citizen summoned Chief Winterhalt, who ordered Wm. Polomski, mason-tender, to remove the bricks. "Ja, Ja," said William, "before you kin with to King Street und beck the pricks vill be avay."
