    GLADYS DAHMER 1926 - 2008 Passed away, peacefully, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Cherished wife of the late Douglas Dahmer (1999). Beloved mother of Murray Dahmer and Mark Dahmer and his wife Karen. Loving grandmother of Christopher, Andrew and Charles. Predeceased by her son, Richard in infancy; granddaughter, Melanie (stillborn); father, Lorne Stahlbaum; mother, Laura Stahlbaum (nee Gowing); brother, Roy Stahlbaum and sister, Betty Fitzgerald. Survived by her brother, Harold Stahlbaum; sister, Grace Berkhert; brother, Carl Stahlbaum and sister, Pearl Gibson. Gladys was enjoying retired life and family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gladys with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau. All are welcome back to the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit.     A pleasant day was enjoyed Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hy. S. Huehn, Rummelhardt, when relatives of the Huehn's gathered together for the first time. The home was filled with bouquets of autumn flowers for the occasion. The dinner was enjoyed in the Waterloo park, after which they immediately proceeded to the above farm. Early in the afternoon the kiddies all were surprised by receiving horns and whistles.

    Balloons were enjoyed by all, also large kites were tossing about in the air for hours. Girls enjoyed softball while the men played horseshoe after which the races began.

    Married women's race - won by Mrs. Howard Washburn, powder puff; Mrs. Edward Lackenbauer, butter-tub.
    Men's race - won by George Bramm, shaving cream; Howard Huehn, soap.
    Men's and women's race\\ - won by June Wuest, slippers; Howard Huehn, shoes.
    Fat women's race - won by Maude Reitz, incense container; Mrs. Jos. Wuest, soap.

    After the races photographs were being taken by Miss Leonee Bramm and Mr. Charley Clarke of Toronto, took moving pictures of the relations. At about five thirty long tables and chairs were placed on the lawn where a dainty supper was enjoyed after refreshments were served. Later in the evening a fireworks' display was given after which songs were sung. first being, "God be with you till we meet again." The last song was a German song sung by Mrs. George Bramm taught by her father many years ago.

    Guests were present from Erie, Penn., Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo. A number were not able to be present. They all departed happily hoping to have the reunion next year again for which hopes are being held that they all will be present and weather more favorable.

    Henry S. Huehn - Henry S. Huehn, 74, of Rummelhardt died at his home Monday after a lengthy illness. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elias Huehn. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

    Surviving are his widow, the former Sophia Knorr; five sons, Harold and William of Rummelhardt, Howard of St. Catharines, Lester of Erbsville and Milton of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Ruth) Dahmer of Waterloo, Mrs. Edward (Lyda) Lackenbauer of Kitchener and Mrs. Oscar (Florence) Gole of Bridgeport.

    Also, one brother, Walter of Kitchener; one sister, Miss Margaret Huehn of Kitchener; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    The body will rest at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 11 am when removal will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church parish hall for service at 2: 30 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens with Rev. A.L. Conrad, pastor of the church, officiating.

    FLORADALE. Sept 22 - The death of Jacob Stahlbaum, 65 occurred very suddenly early today at his farm home near Floradale. Born in Woolwich Township,. Mr. Stahlbaum was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stahlbaum.

    Surviving are his wife; one son, Lorne, and one daughter, Mrs. Jonathan B. (Lorene) Martin, all of Floradale; one brother, Philip, of Floradale, and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Stange, Mitchell; Mrs. Catharine Zither, Hamilton, Mrs, Alex Hass, Woolwich and Mrs. Ephraim Musselman, Floradale. Nine grand-children also survive.

    The remains are resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel. Elmira, where a private funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by a public service at the Evangelical Church, North Woolwich. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Funeral service took place Friday at the Dreisinger funeral chapel, Elmira, for the former Catherine Miller of Floradale. She died last Tuesday at K-W hospital in her 90th year. Burial was in North Woolwich cemetery.

    She was the widow of Jacob Stahlbaum; mother of Lorne of Floradale and Lorene (Mrs. Johnathan Martin) of St. Jacobs; sister of Orton Miller of Elmira. 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren survive; three sisters and four brothers predeceased her.

    Charles H. Gowing, 79, of 45 Centre St., Elmira, died today at his residence. Born in Maryborough township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gowing. He retired from farming in 1947 and had been a resident of Elmira since 1949.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Isabelle Gabel, three daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Laura) Stahlbaum and Mrs. Clayton (Florence) Miller, both of RR 1, Elmira; and Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Israel, Kitchener; two sons, Morley of Glen Allen and Ivan, RR 3, Listowel; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Calvin, Glen Allan, Edgar, Drayton and Wellington, Stratford.

    The body is at the Dreisinger funeral parlor, Elmira. Service will be conducted in the Dreisinger funeral chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. H. L. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.
