Peacefully, as the result of a heart attack, at her home, 176 Regina St. N., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 21, 1989, age 81 years. Mrs. Letson graduated in 1928 as a registered nurse from Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. She worked as a private duty nurse in area hospitals until retiring in 1966. In 1972 she received her 25 year volunteer pin from the Red Cross. Mrs. Letson was a member of Benton Street Baptist Church, Kitchener. Beloved wife of Edgar Letson; dear mother of Mrs. Gwendolyn Luke of Kitchener and Jacqueline and her husband Donald Koebel of London, Ont. She is also lovingly remembered by six grandchildren, William and Mary Armstrong, James and Patricia Armstrong, Duane and Debbie Koebel, Daryl and Shelley Koebel, Denise and Doug Vallis and Charlene and Mark Cudmore; three great-grandchildren, David, Matthew and Andrew Armstrong; sister of Mildred (Mrs. Dan Snyder) of Waterloo, Mrs. Stella Barnett of Oshawa, Lillie (Mrs. Lloyd Peavoy) of Hillsburgh and Florence (Mrs. Henry Hill) and Emily (Mrs. Richard Jolley), all of Guelph. She was predeceased by her parents, Ella and James Jackson and two sisters, Mabel Hoelscher and Edna McGowan. Mrs. Letson's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Friday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Reese officiating. Interment to follow in Parkview cemetery, Waterloo.
