    Passed away peacefully at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 5, 2007. Loving husband of Vivian Marie (nee Campbell). Devoted brother of Howard (Barbara) Brodhaecker. Sisters-in-law Jean (Bill) Deacon, Doris (Jim) Litwiller and Gren Campbell. Will be sadly missed by his 12 nieces, nephews, and their spouses and also many great-nieces and nephews. Ward retired from the Ministry of Transportation in 1963 after 18 years of service and then worked for Compact Sod for 10 years. He was a supporting member of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Preston for many years and an avid bowler who received many awards, his continuous jokes and sense of humour will greatly missed by all who knew him. Predeceased by his parents, Telford Edward Brodhaecker of Arthur and Susie Bell (Wanner) of Strausburg and brother-in-laws Harold, Delmer and Charles Campbell. Arrangements entrusted to the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd. Cambridge ON. (519) 653-3251. A private graveside service to follow at a later date. Also survived by three grandchildren: two sisters, May (Mrs. Harvey Letson), Frances (Mrs Albert Stinson), both of Cambridge. Predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Arthur and one sister, Maude Crewson. Mr. Brodhaecker was born in Wellington township near Arthur, farmed for a number of years in Waterloo County, retired in Kitchener, before moving to Cambridge, in 1977. A member of Grace United Church, Roseville. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home. 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Friday (today) from 7-9 Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Grace United Church, Roseville, Ont., Sunday at 2: 30 p.m. Interment in Roseville cemetery.

    Albert Brodhaecker

    PRESTON—Albert E. Brodhaecker 950 Coronation Blvd., Preston, died Monday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. He was 92. Mr. Brodhaecker was born at Ayton, Ont. He moved from Arthur in 1927 to Dickie Settlement where he farmed for many years. In 1931 he moved to Preston. He had lived retired for several years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife the former Louisa Skerritt; three sons, Telford of Kitchener, Harry of RR 2, Galt and Arthur of Galt; three daughters, Mrs. Maude Crewson and Mrs. Albert (Frances) Stinson both of Preston and Mrs. Harvey (May) Letson of Galt; three sisters, Mrs. Leah Snelgrove of North Battleford, Sask, Mrs. Bertha Toby, of Grandora, Sask. and Mrs. Alex (Matilda) Crone, of Vancouver, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 3: 30 p.m. Interment will be in Preston Park Lawn cemetery. Rev. Ian Fleming of St. Paul's United Church will officiate.

    The Departed Michael Miller

    Michael Miller, well known resident of German Mills, passed away at his home at seven o'clock this morning, aged 74 years, three months and 28 days. Deceased was born December 1, 1846. He is survived by five children, Mrs. Fannie Thaler, Breslau, Mrs. Susie Wanner, Strasburg, Mrs. Julia Bergey, German Mills, Charles Miller of Cedar Edge, Col., and Mrs. Mollie Israel of Kitchener. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon with private services at the residence at two o'clock, and from thence to the Strasburg Mennonite Church for services and the cemetery for interment.
