    Alexander Nitch

    PRESTON, Alexandra Nitch, 64, of 247 Sherring St. died Saturday at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. Mr. Nitch was born in the Ukraine. He lived in Preston, for 31 years after residing for 18 years in Kitchener, where he was employed at Lippert's Furniture. Here he was employed at Canada Buffalo Sled and at Fairfield's and Son, until retiring three years ago. He was a member of the Ukrainian Church, the Ukrainian People's Home and the Ukrainian Fraternal Society. Surviving are his wife, the former Paulina Gulyk; one son, Joseph and one daughter, Helen, both of Preston; one brother, Roy Nytch of Preston; two brothers in Europe; two grandchildren. The body is at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home, where service will be conducted ,Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Peter Triska of Brantford will officiate.

    NITCH, Pauline (nee Gulyk)

    Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Nitch (1962). Loving mother of Joseph Nitch and his wife Marie of Tillsonburg and Helen Gregory and her husband William of Burlington; proud Bobchi, of Russell Nitch, Alexander Gregory and his wife Sandra and Andrew Gregory and his wife Joyce. Predeceased by her granddaughter, Cynthia Nitch (1996), Lovingly remembered by three great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kyle and Tyler. Survived by many relatives in the Ukraine. Pauline will be remembered for her generosity, love and kindness to and for all. Mrs. Nitch was born in Ustia Zelena, Ukraine and had been a resident of Cambridge, since 1930. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Sidorski officiating. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
