It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dan on Thursday, July 31, 2008, in his 66th year, at his home in Preston, Cambridge. Beloved husband and best friend of his wife, Chris McMurtrie, of 42 years. Predeceased by his parents, Ethel and John "Mike". His children and grandchildren will dearly miss him: Warrant Officer Dan Haverson and wife Annette (Dylan and Taylor) of Brighton, Ont., Debbie Robinson and husband Larry (Heather, Jeff and Amy) of Preston, Ont. and Michael McMurtrie and wife Marie (Brandon, Meredith, Jaime and Dain) of Elmira, Ont. Survived by his loving sister, Careen Allaire and husband Ron of Hammond, Ont. Fondly remembered by his in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are welcome for visitation at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St., Galt, Ont., on Sunday, August 3, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Coutts on Monday August 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. Father Phil Sherlock officiating. Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Preston, Ont.
