    LOOTENS, Willemina (Willy) Van Vlymen, nee Voormolen

    Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Owen Sound Hospital. Willy was born on July 7, 1927, in The Hague, Netherlands a daughter of the late Cornelis and Johanna (Carpentier) Voormolen.

    Willy was the cherished, loving and proud mother and grandmother of Dave Van Vlymen and wife Sandy, their children, Jessica Van Vlymen and partner Chris, Wesley Van Vlymen; Randy Van Vlymen and wife Ingrid and their children, Rachel Van Vlymen and partner Taylor, Laura Van Vlymen and fiancé Patrick; and Chris Van Vlymen and wife Joanne (deceased) and their children, Crystal Van Vlymen and partner Terry, Jesse Van Vlymen and wife Billie Jean and Josephine Van Vlymen and husband Justin. Great Grandmother of Savannah, Liam, Xander, Amara and Zachary. Remembered by nieces, nephews, and their families.

    Willy is predeceased by her first husband Josephus Van Vlymen, second husband George Lootens, daughter in law Joanne, brothers Kees, Hans, Dick and by sister Zus.

    Willy came to Canada at a young age and worked at a Hamilton hospital for a short time. Eventually meeting her 1st husband Josephus (deceased) of 25 years and after a few moves, settled in New Hamburg to raise her family. She worked at Nithview Home until she retired.

    She was active in the church, enjoyed reading and meeting her friends for bible study class.

    Willy was a long-time resident of Wilmot Township, recently moving to Owen Sound with her family.

    Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 10:30 until the time of the service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Margaret Walker to officiate. Interment will follow at St, James Anglican Church Cemetery, 4339 Huron Road.

    For those unable to attend in person, a live stream link will be available.

    As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations would be accepted to Nithview Community, or Owen Sound Hospital and can be done through the funeral home.
