    Joan Elizabeth Donelle

    Sunday, May 30th, 1937 - Tuesday, January 26th, 2021

Passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2021 at the age of 83. It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we said goodbye to our beautiful, courageous and strong mother.

We are grateful she is now with her greatest joy and love of her life, Gerry, who died October 2018. They were married for almost 63 years and raised five children together.

Sue and Jim Lessard of Magnetawan, Steve and Shelley Donelle of Woodstock, Gary Donelle and Christine DeChateauvert of Merrickville, Brenda and Kirk Anderson of Kitchener and Lynn and Mark Davison of Harrogate, England.

She was the loving Grandmother of 9 and Great Grandmother of 15. Joan will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Doug and Sandi Lang of Waterloo and Sally and the late Don Eley of Burlington.

Joan's quiet strength was a gift she did not recognize in herself. Her career working in the Liaison Office at WLU brought her the respect and recognition that she so deserved. She supported and guided many young students, and the relationships she forged were always dear to her heart.

We are grateful for her unconditional love and humbled by her courage and strength. It is impossible to put into words how deeply we will miss her.

Our thanks go out to the incredible nurses at the Freeport Palliative Care Unit. We are grateful for their empathy and the kind, loving care they gave to mom.

A private family celebration of Joan will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity dear to your heart would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by calling the Henry Walser Funeral Home 519-749-8467.
