    LORNE JOHN QUEHL - 1930 - 2009 - Lorne John Quehl, of St. Jacobs, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, January 30, 2009 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener in his 79th year. Lorne was born in Wellesley Township, February 1, 1930. Son of the late Edward H. Quehl and the late Nellie Hoffman. Loving and caring father of Sharon Quehl-Keating and husband John and his grandsons, Johnathan and Riley. Dear brother of Ruby and her husband Lorne Hackbart of Wellesley. Remembered by nieces, Sandra Quehl and Heather Watts, Sherry Quehl, Lynda Timms (Hackbart) and husband Laurie, Brenda Dinsmore (Hackbart) and husband Jamie. Predeceased by brother, Ralph Quehl and wife Miriam. Special thanks to the staff of St. Mary's General Hospital and St. Jacob's Place for taking great care of our Lorne. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate and share their memories of Lorne during a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, February 2, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 12-12: 45 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.

    QUEHL, Mrs. Edward (Nellie) - Peacefully, on Monday, Dec. 2, 1985, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Nellie Florence Quehl, of 41 Henry St. E., Wellesley, Mrs. Quehl was born in Wellesley township, 84 years ago. She was a daughter of the late George Hoffman and the late Elizabeth Hahn. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley and active in the LCW of St. Mark's. Dear mother of Ralph and his wife Miriam of RR 3, Wellesley, Lorne and his wife Marjorie of Waterloo and Ruby (Mrs. Lorne Hackbart) of Wellesley. Lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Sandra, Sherry and Sharon Quehl and Brenda and Lynda Hackbart. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Quehl (September 22, 1974); two brothers and one sister. Visitation at Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends today (Monday), 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, removal will be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., Rev. Wilmer Minke officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Lutheran cemetery, Wellesley.

    WELLESLEY, July 12 - Following an illness of about two months, Conrad Quehl, 83, died at his home here last night. Born in nearby Ratzburg, Nov. 6, 1862, he had been engaged in farming around Wellesley almost all his life. He was a member of St. Paul's Canada Lutheran Church, Wellesley. Surviving are his wife, the former Caroline Seyler, and three sons, William, Robert and Edward, all of Wellesley. The remains are resting at Futher's Funeral Home here until ten o'clock tomorrow morning, when they will be removed to his late residence. A private funeral service will be held at his home at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, followed by a public service at about 2: 30 pm in St. Paul's Church, with Rev. Herbert Binhammer in charge. Interment will be made in St. Paul's Cemetery.

    WELLESLEY, Dec. 30. - The death of Mrs. Conrad Quehl, 84, occurred at the home of her son, Edward, Bamberg Rd., today. The daughter of the late Daniel Seyler and Elizabeth Horn, she was born in Wilmot Township in 1862. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, and an honorary member of the Ladies' Aid. Her husband died in July of this year. Surviving are three sons, William, Robert and Edward, and one sister Mrs. John Heipel, all of Wellesley. The remains will rest at the Futher Funeral Home until Wednesday noon, when removal will be made to the home of her son, Edward, where a private funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock followed by a memorial service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2: 30. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. A. Binhammer will officiate.
