    KNECHTEL, Alfred Emmanuel, "Alfie" - Went to meet the Lord peacefully, March 30, 1997, age 73 years, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, with his family at his side. Alfred was born in Listowel in 1924. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla (nee Bowman) of 43 years. Dear father of Sharon Leis and her husband Bruce of Moorefield, Charmaine McKay and her husband Alvin of Belmont, Wayne Knechtel and his wife Cathy of Kitchener and Mark Knechtel and his wife Chrystal of Waterloo; grandfather of Murray and Jannette Leis, James Leis, Robert Leis, Rachel McKay, Matthew Knechte I, Joshua Knechtel, Zackery Knechtel and Melody Knechtel; brother of William Knechtel and his wife Florence of Mount Forest. Ideila Hoffman of Elmira, Dorothy McKenzie of Welland and Esther Janszen of Port Colborne. Predeceased by his parents Ezra Knechtel and Sylvia (nee Gutzke); one brother Harvey Knechtel and one sister Alma Gibson. Alfred was a member of Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly where he was head usher. He retired after 26 and one half years of service with the Waterloo County Board of Education. He enjoyed his membership with the St. Jacobs Crokinole Club. Mr. Knechte|'s family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. 5., Waterloo, this evening (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on 'Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly. Rev. Marshall Eizenga officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, Elmira.

    PRISCILLA KNECHTEL-YANKE nee Bowman 1930 - 2007

    Went to meet her Lord peacefully, at Heritage House in St. Jacobs, on March 25, 2007, at the age of 77 years. Predeceased by her husband Alfred Knechtel in 1997 and her husband Roy Yanke in 2004. Dear mother of Sharon Leis (Bruce) of Moorefield, Charmaine McKay (Alvin) of Belmont, Wayne Knechtel (Cathy) of Bloomingdale and Mark Knechtel (Crystal) of Waterloo. Also survived by her step-children, Sandy Scott (Doug), Terry Yanke (Heather), Glenn Yanke (Sally), Stu Yanke (Chris) and Linda Morris. Grandmother of Murray Leis (Janette), James Leis, Robert Leis, Rachel McKay, Joshua Knechtel, Zackery Knechtel and Melody Knechtel; great-grandmother of Alyssa and Ashley Leis. Lovingly remembered by 12 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, Selinda Martin, Saloma Merritt, Edna Vandenberg (Fred), Carol Shantz (Danny) and Grace Bowman; brothers, Orvie Bowman (Eleanor) and Leonard Bowman (Joy). Predeceased by her parents, Levi and Hannah Bowman; her beloved grandson, Matthew Knechtel; and two brothers.     SUGG, Marion (nee Brutzki) Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, February 2, 2014 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Vincent Sugg on October 26, 2001. Beloved mother of Terry and his wife Brenda of Lions Head, Trudy Anderson and her husband Stephen of Waterloo, Randy of Crosshill and friend Janice of Wellesley, Mark and his wife Wendy of Kitchener, Cathy Knechtel and her husband Wayne of Bloomingdale, and Tim and his wife Donna of Waterloo. Sadly missed by her loving grandchildren, Gary, Bradley and wife Dianne, Pamela and husband Clare, Becky and husband Matt, Julie, Ceilidh, Melissa and partner Kyle, Andrew and wife Elizabeth, and Joshua and friend Sylvia; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Anna, Vincent, Joseph, Samuel, Mark, Nicholas, Crystal and Keesha.     Mrs. Levi Bowman, 58, of 24 First St., died at her home on Friday after a short illness. Mrs. Bowman, the former Hannah Martin, was born in Woolwich Township, April 13, 1907, and was a member of the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Orville of Stratford and Leonard of Elmira; six daughters, Mrs. Amos (Selinda) Martin of Elora, Mrs. Alfred (Priscilla) Neargarth of Waterloo, Mrs. Robert (Salone) Brown of Acton, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Vandenberg of Elmira, and Carol and Grace at home; a brother, Daniel, and sister, Mrs. M. Shelhorn, both of Elmira; and 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Bowman was predeceased by two sons, a brother and two sisters. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira until Monday when removal was made to the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Ralph Lyons officiated. Burial was in the Martin Mennonite cemetery. The casket was opened at the cemetery.
