    SNYDER, Joy Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Trinity Village, Kitchener at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Mahlon Snyder (2007). Dear mother of Glen Snyder (Marg) of Cambridge, Jane Rumig (Don) of St. Jacobs, Michelle Fangrad (Mark) of Waterloo, Randy Snyder (Jaime), and stepson Rick Lane (Diane) of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Donald and Brandon Rumig, and Timothy and Christopher Fangrad, and great-grandmother of Molly and William Rumig, Tristan Rumig, and Maggie Lane. Will be missed by her sister Ruby Magit, and brother-in-law Don Blum. Joy was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Lydia (Spencer) Sittler, five sisters, and five brothers. Joy was a lifetime member of Calvary United Church, a sports enthusiast, and an avid fan of the Kitchener Rangers. Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, and from 10 - 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Rd., St. Jacobs, where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Interment in Calvary United Cemetery and a reception will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Calvary United Church would be appreciated.

    Sittler, Jacob A. - On Sunday, Oct. 3, 1993, at his residence, Heritage House, St. Jacobs, aged 92 years. Mr. Sittler was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs and a member of the St. Jacobs Lions Club. Dear husband of Frances Sittler of St. Jacobs and was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lydia Spencer. Loving father of Charles and his wife Lillian of Kitchener, Joy and her husband Mahlon Snyder, Clementine and her husband Elmer Hill, all of St. Jacobs, Annie Sittler of Winnipeg, Ruby and her husband Allan Madgett of Trenton, Joan and her husband Don Blum of Kitchener, Esther Temple of Kitchener, Laurel and her husband Menno Martin of Chepstow, Orvil Hasenpflug and his wife Mary of Petersburg, Edward Hasenpflug and his wife Kathy of Kitchener. Also survived by daughters-in-law Doris Sittler of St. Jacobs, and Meryl Sittler of Winnipeg, sister-in-law, Ruby Sittler of St. Jacobs, 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren and 29 step-great-grandchildren. Will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sons, Ken, Joe, Tom, and John; daughters, Mary and Lorraine; brothers, John and Andrew; sisters, Marion and Catherine. Mr. Sittler's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At noon on Wednesday, transfer will be made to St. Jacobs for funeral service at 2 pm, Rev. Everett Mossman officiating. Interment to follow in Calvary United Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

    Notes:

    DEATH. A very sad death took place in our village on Monday morning, when the late Solomon Sittler passed away at the home of his mother, on King St. The deceased was only in his 38th year, and had been suffering from cancer for some time. Previous to coming here, he resided in Hawkesville and Conestogo and was well and favorably known in these places as well as here. The funeral will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon to Conestogo Mennonite Church for service and burial. Five young children are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father, the mother having died about a year ago at Conestogo. They have the sympathy of their many friends and the people in this community.

    The remains of John Sittler, Hawkesville, were interred at the Mennonite burial grounds here on Sunday, the 9th inst. Mr. Sittler had lived for many years in the vicinity of Hawkesville and was a familiar figure to everyone. His death took place, on the morning of Oct. 7th, from heart failure. Deceased was 57 years, 2 months 22 days old. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved wife and family.
