    Family lore was that the family came in 1885, and son William came in 1888, when his duty in the army was over. The family left Germany to avoid the draft of Carl.

    WILLIAM C. WOELLER

    William Carl Woeller, retired municipal employee, passed away at his home, 18 Gordon avenue, at an early hour this morning. Mr.Woeller, born in Germany on Sept. 20, 1864, was in his 72nd year. He migrated to Canada in 1888, and in 1898 joined the staff of the Public Utilities Commission as engineer. He retired on Jan. 1, 1933, after holding the position 35 years. Mr. Woeller attended First English Lutheran Church.

    Surviving are his wife, nee Mary Klem, one son, Vernon Woeller, city, one brother Carl Woeller, Waterloo, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Haas, city. Two daughters predeceased him.

    The funeral will he held Wednesday afternoon with a service at the home at 3 o'clock and thence to Mount Hope Cemetery for burial. Rev. A. G. Jacobi will officiate. The remains will be resting a Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home until 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.

    THE DEATH OF MR. CHRISTOPH WOELLER

    There passed away at his home, 15 Mansion street, Berlin, last evening Mr. Christoph Woeller. The cause of death was apoplexy. Mr. Woeller although not in the best of health for the past year, had been able to be around until two weeks ago when he was taken to his bed.

    Mr. Woeller had been a resident of Berlin for over thirty years and was highly respected by all who had made his acquaintance. Born in Charlottendorf, Rugen, Germany on November 28th, 1835, he with his wife and family came to America over thirty years, settling in Berlin. He was chiefly engaged in farm and drainage work in this vicinity. He was twice married. His first wife was Friederika Genz, to whom he was married in 1860. His second wife was Miss Mary Graff, who with four children survive him. The children are: Mr. William Woeller, Berlin, Mr. Carl Woeller, Waterloo, Lena Mrs. Fred Haase, Waterloo Township and one daughter in Germany.

    The deceased was a faithful and member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. The funeral will held at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon at the residence, thence to St. Matthews Church. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
