    PETZNICK, Robert Irvin (Bob) - Formerly of Kitchener and Fordwich, passed away suddenly at his residence in Vernon, BC on Thursday, December 27, 2007, just one day prior to his 84th birthday. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanne, to whom he was married for 55 years; his children, Gail (Tim) Sperling of Kitchener, Ont., Glen (Moya) Petznick of Salmon Arm, BC, Randy (Chris) Petznick of Elmira, Ont. and Dianne (Rick) Green of Kitchener, Ont.; his grandchildren, Julie and Steven Sperling, Sarah, Hayley and Gavin Petznick and Jamie and Jason Petznick; one brother, Gordon (June) Petznick of London, Ont.; one sister, Bernett Browne of Willowdale, Ont.; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by one brother, Verner Petznick and two sisters, Dorothy Petznick and Bernice Pequegnat. Bob was an employee of the Record for 49 years. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 25. An avid Skier, he was very actively involved in the development of Chicopee Ski Club as a member of the ski patrol, club president and head ski instructor. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Vernon on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 2: 30 pm. There will be a celebration of Bob's life at a later date when the interment is held in Waterloo, Ont. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the CNIB or to the charity of your choice. When once asked to share in writing some significant accomplishment that Bob felt he had achieved in life, he wrote this: "Raising a family of which I am extremely proud."     Resting at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St South, Waterloo, until noon Saturday, then to the chapel of St. John's Lutheran Church for services at 1: 30 p.m. Rev. Everett Mossman officiating. Committal at Parkview chapel, followed by burial in Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery.

    GUSTAV PETZNICK

    Gustav Petznick, 95, died in hospital at Pembroke on Saturday.

    Born in Germany, he came to Canada at nine years of age. He was a member of the Lutheran church. His wife, Elizabeth Yanke predeceased him in 1939.

    Surviving are six sons, Charles, Arnold, George and Albert, all of Pembroke, William of Baden and Rudolph of Waterloo; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Irene) Woito, Mrs. Clarence (Edna) Brumm, Mrs. Clifford (Evelyn) Rito, all of Pembroke, Mrs. George (Lydia) Witt of Chatham 28 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

    The funeral service was conducted at the Malcolm and Devitt Funeral Home, Pembroke, Tuesday afternoon.

    MRS. GUSTAVE PETZNICK - Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Gustave Petznick, at her home near Pembroke on Friday. Among the survivors are three sons, William of Kitchener, Rudolph of Waterloo and Arnold of Galt. Sept. 29, 1939.

    WILLIAM F. BRANDT - Stricken with a heart attack while working in his garden on Marina Road. William F. Brandt., 70, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. Born June 25. 1870, in Wellesley township, he farmed most of his life in Waterloo township. Five years ago he retired and moved to Kitchener. Surviving are his wife, Philipina Grube, four sons, Edwin of Elmira, Ervin and Nelson of Kitchener and Milton of Centreville, three daughters, Clara, Mrs. Rudolph Petznick of Waterloo, Adeline, Mrs. Allen Schmidt of Kitchener and Annie, Mrs. Henry Becker, Jr, of Dashwood and 17 grandchildren. Remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where service will be held Friday at 3: 30 pm. Interment will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo. Rev. Dr. Ulrich Leopold, assistant pastor of St Matthew's church, will officiate.
