BROTEN, Rudolph (Rudy) - Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (1987). Loving father of Randy (Gail), and Carolyn Moore (predeceased September 2009). Dear Grandfather (Grumps) of Shannon. Survived by his sister Gladys Woodcock (Kingston) and son-in-law Ron Jean-Marie (Muskoka). Rudy was well known in Preston as the old man on a bicycle with 2 black and white dogs. Rudy was a bricklayer and served in WWII as a paratrooper. Rudy was also known for his delicious homemade pies. A private family funeral service has already taken place. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, (519) 653-3251. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
