    PUMFREY, William James

    Born in Thamesville, Ontario, on June 2, 1928, passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on July 2, 2008. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Olive (Lindsay) and their three daughters, Susan Cottrell, Janice (Jim) Wilson and Diane (Gary) Arnburg. Beloved grandfather to Shannon Cottrell, Micol (Jessica) Cottrell, Nicholas Arnburg and Rebecca Arnburg. Loving brother to Elizabeth Carson and brother-in-law to Alice Pumfrey, Mary Pumfrey and Laurene Lindsay. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Amelia; his brothers, Charles, Robert, Frank and Edward; his sisters, Marie and June; his brothers-in-law, Clarence Lindsay, David Carson and Jack Pumfrey and his sister-in-law, Helen Pumfrey. Bill worked at various jobs including Mamie's Bread, Barlow Cartage and retired from Franklin (WCI) Mfg. Bill and Olive also owned the North End Confectionary on Norfolk Avenue from 1965-1975. Bill was active in the Moose Lodge of Galt and an avid bowler at Water St, Bowl. Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge, today (Friday), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Coutts Funeral Home chapel, on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment Mount View Cemetery.

    PUMFREY, Olive May (nee Lindsay)

    November 7, 1928 - December 7, 2015. Beloved mother to Susan Cottrell, Janice Wilson and Diane (Gary) Arnburg. Adored grandmother to Shannon, Micol and Jessica Cottrell, Nicholas and Rebecca Arnburg. Loving "sister"-in-law to Elizabeth Carson and Alice Pumfrey. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, moved as a child to Shelburne, ON, then Paris, ON where she met her loving husband William "Bill" Pumfrey, while working as a telephone operator. After marrying in 1950, they lived in Windsor, then settled in Galt. They owned North End Confectionary on Norfolk Ave. for 10 years. Olive also worked for Mac's Milk, Elko and Windsor Wafers. Olive is predeceased by her husband Bill, parents John and Ethel Lindsay; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Laurene Lindsay; son-in-law, Jim Wilson, brother-in-law, Dave Carson and her Pumfrey inlaws: Robert and Amelia, Charles and Helen, Ted and Mary, Bob, Frank, Marie, June and Jack. Her priority was her family and we deeply appreciate her sacrifices for us. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Society - Let's stop this thief of personal quality of life and dignity. Thank you to the staff of St. Luke's and Comfort Keepers, especially Julie. Thank you mom for everything - I love you more. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, on Thursday, December 8, 2015, at 11 a.m., from the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow, at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.

    Formerly of 26 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, April 4, 1991, in his 98th year. Beloved husband of Pearl Ottley and dear father of Clare and his wife Laurene and Olive (Mrs. William Pumfrey) all of Cambridge, dear brother of Wilbert Lindsay and Myrtle Sholdice both of Manitoba. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Earl and his first wife Ethel May Carr. He had been a resident of Cambridge, for 41 years. Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where friends will be received on Friday (today), from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral and Committal Service will .be held from the funeral home chapel, on Saturday, April 6, 1991, at 2 p.m. Interment, Mount View Cemetery Cambridge.
