    Death of Mrs. Charles Hay

This lady, well known to many in Galt, where she has resided with her daughter for a number of years, died quite suddenly in Brantford, on Monday last. Last week we chronicled the marriage of her daughter to Mr. Morrison, for some time a teacher in Galt school. During the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Morrison on their wedding trip, Mrs. Hay went to Brantford to assist in putting their house in order for their return and while there was stricken with paralysis, from which she never rallied. The Expositor of the city says: - "We have to chronicle a particularly sad occurrence today, in the sudden death of Mrs. Charles Hay, of Galt, who died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. A. H. Morrison and his bride from their wedding trip, and while here was stricken with paralysis on Friday evening, gradually sinking, until last evening when she expired. She was a sister-in-law to Mr. J. B. Hay, of this city, and died in her 70th year. The funeral took place to the G. T. R. on Monday at 1:30 p.m., thence to Galt. Rev. Dr. Cochrane conducted the usual services, and the pall bearers were Messrs. Thomas Cowherd, David Ritchie, J. Sutherland, Capt. Kerr. S. M. Thompson, and R. S. Shenton."
