    Notes:

Sudden Death of Mrs. Geo. Swan, Jr. - The trite but solemn adage, "In the midst of life we are in death," was once more verified in this community when, on Tuesday forenoon, Jan. 24, Mrs. Geo. Swan, Jr., suddenly succumbed to heart failure. She had been going about her household duties that morning as usual, but after going up stairs suddenly collapsed, and passed away before medical aid reached her. It was known that she had chronic heart trouble, but was perfectly well when the fatal attack came. Deceased, whose maiden name was Agnes Irwin, was born in Scotland of Irish parents 38 years ago, and came direct to Ayr 14 years since, marrying a couple of years later. She was a Presbyterian, being a member of Knox United Church, and was devoted to the interests of her little family, the eldest of whom is aged 10 years and the youngest 17 mos. Besides her husband there are four children - Agnes, George, Moir and Isabel - and a brother, William Irwin of Flint, Mich. The sorely bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral takes place at 3 o'clock today.
