    MRS. JACOB GRESS

    The death occurred Wednesday night at her home on R.R. 2, Ayr (Cedar Creek Road) of Mrs. Jacob Gress, in her 85th year. the late Mrs. Gress was born at Strasburg, and she came to her present residence as a bride when 20 years old. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Roseville, and for many years taught Sunday school classes there. Before her marriage she was Elizabeth Baetz.

    Surviving are four daughters, Miss Elizabeth Gress and Mrs. F. Peeler, at home, Mrs. R. H. Rutherford and Mrs. William Leithead of Ayr; two sons, Clarence of Kitchener and and Milton at home. Ten grand-children and six great grandchildren also survive. Her husband predeceased her in 1917.

    The Funeral.

    Memorial service for the late Mrs. Jacob Gress, R.R. No. 2, (Cedar Creek Road), who passed away at her home on Wednesday, took place from the residence at 2.30 Sunday afternoon. Interment was in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The service, conducted by Rev. W. pierce of Kitchener, assisted by Rev. Simon Swartz of Kitchener, was largely attended. During the service Rev. Pierce rendered a solo of the hymn, "The Ninety and Nine," while Rev. Swartz sang, "There Is No Night There." Pallbearers were: three sons-in-law, Henderson Rutherford, William Leithead, Morton Robson; and three nephews, Norman Ziegler, Ivan Ziegler, George Wagner.

    MRS. JACOB GRESS

    AYR. April 24.- Mrs. Jacob Gress, 84, died last night at her residence, R.R. 2. Ayr (Cedar Creek Road). Born in Strasburg, she was the former Elizabeth Baetz Mrs. Gress had lived on the farm where she died for the past 64 years. She was a member of the United Brethren church, Roseville, and a former Sunday school teacher. Her husband predeceased her in 1917.

    Surviving are two sons, Clarence, park superintendent of Kitchener, and Milton at home, four daughters, Miss Elizabeth and Mrs. F. Peeler at home, Mrs. W. H. Rutherford and Mrs. William Leithhead of Ayr, ten grandchildren and six great-grand- children.

    A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2.30 p.m. at her residence. Interment will be in Cedar Creek cemetery. Remains will rest at the Harold Gray Funeral Home, Galt, until Friday at 2 p.m.
