John Doerr, formerly a resident of Berlin, died Saturday morning in Rochester. Approximately a year ago, he was infected with intestinal bleeding, but had apparently recovered from it and had visited his brother-in-law, Mr. Wm. Rittinger, in Berlin twice in the summer. On the Monday before last, he felt ill and on Tuesday, the bleeding began again, whereupon, he lost consciousness. The deceased was born in Berlin and after he grew up, was employed for eight or nine years in Peter Good's shop. He lived in Rochester for over twenty years and ran a large grocery store there with the greatest success. As a result of his illness, he rented out his store a few months ago. He leaves behind his widow and four children, as well as his aged father, Mr. Conrad Doerr, and a sister, Mrs. Wm. Rittinger, both of Berlin. The burial took place on Saturday. - Translated by: Patricia Kauk
