    NEIDERT, Eva

After a long and challenging, but beautiful life of loving devotion to her family, friends and neighbours, Eva has gone home to God. She slipped peacefully away, on Sunday afternoon, July 20th, attended by two nurses at her bedside at the Golden Years Nursing Home, in Cambridge. Eva was in her 88th year, born in Hungary on August 20, 1909, the daughter of Eva and Johann Schilling. She married at "sweet-sixteen". Her beloved husband, Philip, was a hard working farmer from her village. Only able to have one child, their daughter Eva was their great joy and while it lasted, the three of them shared a good and happy life together, in their humble German-Hungarian village, with strong family bonds and many close friends. Then overnight, the Second World War and its horrible atrocities, changed everything. Their sacred village life and their many hopes and dreams were shattered. Suddenly they found themselves homeless refugees and even prisoners of Communist Concentration Camps. Untold suffering, many losses and terrible hardships characterized Eva's life during the war. Finally in 1951, she and her family came to settle in Galt, as new immigrants, in a foreign land, having to start all over again. Her husband Philip , physically broken by the war, had only a few good working years left in him, so it was for Eva to work and earn a living. The crowning event in Eva's life must have been been her 60th anniversary celebration, with Philip and all her family, just before his death in February 1986. Eva Neidert was the beloved mother of Eva Schubert, and husband Karl, sister of Johann Schilling and niece Elisabeth Berg, both of Germany and nephew, Ronni Heimbuch, predeceased by her sister, Elisabeth Heirnbuch of Delhi. She was grandmother of Frederick Schubert of Ottawa and Erika Balicki and husband Michael of King City and great-grandmother of Alanna and Larissa Balicki. The family will receive relatives and friends, at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main St. East, Cambridge, on Wednesday, July 23, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary recited at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, July 24, at 2 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Andrew Paulson officiating. The interment will immediately follow the service at Mount View Cemetery.
