Deceased had been unwell for several years past and had been confined to his bed for the past four months suffering from neuralgia of the head, which, together with the infirmities of old age, were the cause of death.

The late Mr. Pfaff was born in Harbach, Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, on August 16th, 1816, being 80 years, one month and 20 days of age. When twenty-six years old he came to this country, settling in Waterloo, where he plied his trade of tailor up to about 15 years ago, when he retired.

Besides a sorrowing wife, five children survive, namely: George of Millbank: John of Bad Axe, Mich.; Annie (Mrs. Liphardt), Guelph; Mary (Mrs. Len), Waterloo, and Adam, of Guelph. Another daughter, Elizabeth died some twenty-five years ago.

Three brothers, Baltzer of Waterloo. Henry of Zurich, Heinrich of Highgate, Ont., and one sister, Mrs. Schittler of Zurich, also survive.

The funeral of the late J. George Pfaff was held on Tuesday from the residence, Albert street, to St. John's Lutheran church, where services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Oberlander, of Berlin. Interment took place in Mount Hope cemetery.
