    Wagler.- Emanuel, son of Joel and Catherine (Lichti) Wagler, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont, Apr. 16, 1927; died of cancer at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 10, 1988; aged 61 y. On Sept. 23, 1950, he was married to Alice Roth, who survives. Also surviving are 5 daughters (Carol Moreno, Elaine Liau, Sharon Graham, Patricia Snyder, and Mary Hartman), 2 sons (Robert and William), 16 grandchildren, and 2 brothers (Christian and Elmer). He was preceded in death by one son (Richard Charles). He was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Dec. 13, in charge of Fred Lichti and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in the church cemetery.

    WAGLER, Emanuel L.\emdash On Saturday, Dec. 10, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Emanuel Wagler, of 94 Webster St., New Hamburg.
    He was born in Wellesley township 61 years ago, a son of the late Joel Wagler and the former Catherine Lichti. He was a foreman at Warren Paving, Kitchener, for over 25 years, prior to his retirement and was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden.
    Beloved husband of Alice Mae Roth, whom he married September 23, 1950. Lovingly remembered by his children, Carol and her husband Daniel Moreno of Providence, Rhode Island, Elaine and her husband Eelake Liau of Vancouver, B.C., Robert and his wife Patricia of Kitchener, Sharon and her husband Marion Graham of Bright, Patricia and her husband Keith Snyder of Baden, William and his wife Kim, Mary and her husband Jamie Harman, all of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by two brothers, Christian and his wife Verna of RR 2, Baden, Elmer and his wife Hilda of New Hamburg. Loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Richard Charles.
    Friends and relative may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, until Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., when transfer will be made to Steinmann Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden, for the service at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Fred Lichti officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

    Beloved wife of the late Emanuel L. Wagler who predeceased her December 10, 1988. Loving mother of Carol & Daniel Moreno of Waterloo, Elaine & Joseph McIvor of Surrey, B.C., Robert & Patricia Wagler of Kitchener, Sharon & Marlon Graham of Bright, Patricia & Keith Snyder of New Hamburg, William & Kim Wagler of New Hamburg and Mary & Jamie Hartman of Baden. Sadly missed by her 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Florence & Paul Snyder of Baden, Linda Sakellariou of Edmonton and by sister-in-law Hilda Wagler of New Hamburg.

    Predeceased by her son Richard Charles Wagler, her parents Noah & Edna (Erb) Roth, stepmother Druscilla (Bender) Jutzi, brothers Nelson & Edna & Margaret Roth, Alvin & Doris Roth, Kenneth & Linda Roth, brothers-in-law Bill Sakellariou, Christian & Verna Wagler and Elmer Wagler.

    Alice had worked at Nithview Home for 18 years, was a longtime volunteer at the New Hamburg Thrift Store and loved her Quilting.

    Relatives and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St. New Hamburg on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 4-8pm. Funeral service will take place at Steinmann Mennonite Church on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

    TAVISTOCK - Funeral and committal services for Noah W. Roth of 185 Hope St., E., who died at Stratford Hospital, Tuesday, will be held Friday at the East Zorra Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m.

    Rev. Newton Gingerich will officiate. Temporary entombment will be in Riverside cemetery, New Hamburg.

    The body will be at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg, until noon Friday.

    Born in East Zorra Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Roth. He lived in the New Hamburg area most of his life until moving to Tavistock in 1968. He had worked at Hahn Brass Co. Ltd. and was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Edna Mae Erb, in 1963, a son, a sister and a brother.

    Surviving are his second wife, the former Druscilla Bender, whom he married July 27, 1968; two sons, Nelson of Baden and Kenneth of Waterloo; a step-son, Nelson Zehr of R.R. 1, St. Agatha; three daughters, Mrs. Emmanuel (Alice) Wagler of New Hamburg, Mrs. Florence (Paul) Snyder of R.R. 2, Baden and Linda of New Hamburg; two step-daughters, Mrs. Glen (Laurine) Roth of R.R. 2, Tavistock and Catherine Zehr of Tavistock; three brothers, Emmanuel of Baden, Daniel in Indiana and Amos of Clarence, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Riegsecken in Indiana, Mrs. Emmanual (Lydia) Schwartzentruber of R.R. 2, Petersburg, Mrs. Alvin (Emma) Miller of Clarence, N.Y., and Mrs. Eli (Sarah) Bontrager of New York, and 15 grandchildren.

    Lichti. - Christian J. Lichti was born near Wellesley, Ont., on Sept. 10, 1859; died Oct. 19, 1933; aged 74 y. 1 m. 9 d. Heart trouble and dropsy were the cause of his death. On Oct. 3, 1882, he was united in matrimony to Katie Leis who died March 24, 1932. To this union were born 2 sons and 3 daughters, of whom Katie (Mrs. Joel Wagler), and Fanny survive; 3 brothers and 4 sisters also survive him (Menno, David, and Moses, and Fanny (Mrs. Nic Jantzi), Nancy (Mrs. Dan Schmidt), Barbara (Mrs. J. S. Erb), and Mary (Mrs. Sol R. Leis). Services were conducted at the home by C. S. Zehr and at the Maple View A. M. Church by Christian Schultz, D. S. Jutzi, and Daniel Lebold.     Mrs. Christian Lichty

    Mrs. Christian J. Lichty, a lifelong and well known resident of Wellesley village passed away last Thursday, March 24th, after an illness of nine months, at the age of 74 years. She was a valued and faithful adherent of the Amish-Mennonite Church. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Wagler and Miss Fanny Licty. Also five brothers, Joseph, Daniel, Jacob, Solomon and Menno Leis, all of Wellesley, and one sister, Mrs. Nicholas S. Roth, of New Hamburg.

    The funeral was held on Monday forenoon from her late home to Amish-Mennonite Church and Cemetery on the Third Line of Wellesley Township.

    Nicholas D. Roth The death of a former well- known resident of East Zorra occurred on Friday, April 2nd, when Mr. Nicholas D. Roth passed away at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Chris. Wagler, in South Easthope, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 19 days. He had been in ill health for some time and spent two weeks in the K.-W. Hospital, returning some weeks ago, since which time he had been confined to bed the late Mr. Roth was born in East Zorra, a son of the late Nichlas L. Roth. Forty-three years ago he married Mary Wagler and they resided on farms in South Easthope and on the East Zorra townline until 1922, when they moved to Clarence, New York State. Owing to ill health he returned to South Easthope three years ago and resided with his wife's mother until his more serious illness overtook him. There are left in bereavement his widow, four sons, Emanuel, of Wilmot, Noah of Wellesley, Amos of Clarence, N.Y., Daniel of Topeka, Indiana, and four daughters, Mrs. Ben Riegsecker, Middleburg, Ind., Mrs. E. Schwartzentruber, Wilmot, Mrs. Alvin Miller and Mrs Eli Bontrager, Clarence, N.Y. He is also survived by two brothers, Jacob D. Roth, of South Easthope, and Christian D. Roth of Cassel, and four sisters, Mrs. David Ries, Mornington, Mrs. John Gascho, Elkton, Mich., Mrs. Joseph Kropf, Wilmot, and Mrs. Dan Jutzi, East Zorra. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Chris. Wagler, to 16th line East Zorra A. M. Church for service followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends assembled for the funeral services, which were conducted by Rev. M. Kipfer, Rev. Jacob R. Bender and Rev. B. Gingerich.     Sudden Death of Mrs. E. Seip

    The sudden death occurred this morning (Monday) of Florence Randall, wife of Mr. E. Seip of King St. Mrs. Seip resided in the Knell block. She was not in ill health and was about the home as usual this morning. About 11 o'clock she visited her mother who resides in the same block and there lay down to rest. Her mother upon wishing to awaken her about 11:30 o'clock, found her dead. Coroner Dr. Honsberger who was called, pronounced death due to heart failure. He did not deem an inquest necessary.

    The deceased was in her 23rd year. She is survived by a husband, two little girls, aged five years and 10 months. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Randall. - Berlin News Record.
