RICHARD J. KUBE
Richard J. Kube, 75, died suddenly early today at his residence, 669 Queen street south, from a heart attack. A widower, the deceased was born Nov. 5, 1864 in Kitchener. He was a former grocer and attended St. Matthews Lutheran church. His wife, Anna Boeckner, predeceased him Sept 6, 1933.
He is survived by two sons, Robert C., Kitchener and Arthur J., serving with the army overseas; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Kuntz, Waterloo, Mrs. Fred Barnes and Mrs. Oscar Radtke, Kitchener, four brothers, George in Vancouver, Robert of Detroit; Jack, Kitchener; August in the Canadian northwest; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Hastings of Stratford, and seven grandchildren. One daughter, Laura, predeceased him.
Remains are at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. with interment at Mount Hope cemetery. Rev. Dr. J. Schmieder, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, will officiate.

HALF A CENTURY

Mr. Robert Kube, hardware merchant in this place, enjoys the distinction of having worked at tinsmithing for half a century. In the spring of 1853-just 50 years ago-he entered a tinsmith shop at Naugart, Germany, and served as apprentice for four years. He then spent three years travelling through Germany, working at his trade. By this time he was old enough for the army so he put in his four years' soldiering, after which he started in business for himself at Graftonberg, for which he had to pass an examination before a Commissioner to prove himself master of his trade. He continued there until 1866 when he sold out and came to Canada, working in Berlin for a few months, then established himself in business in Tavistock remaining there ten years. In 1881 he came to Wellesley where he has carried on business ever since. Although now getting up in years he is still a splendid workman and he has built up a profitable trade. He is in rugged health and his many friends hope he has still many years of health and prosperity before him.

Robert Kube - The death occurred Saturday afternoon of Robert Kube, a former resident of Wellesley. The deceased had been in failing health for some time. He was in his 86th year. The funeral will be held from Lippert and Hunter's funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 1: 30 o'clock. Thence to the Wellesley Lutheran church. The services will be in charge of the Rev. J. Schmieder. Burial will follow in the Wellesley Lutheran Cemetery.
