    ZEHR, Amos-Peacefully, on Tuesday, Aug 6, 1991, at Milverton Nursing Home, Amos Zehr, of Millbank, and formerly of RR 3, Wellesley.
    Amos was born in Wellesley township 86 years ago, a son of the late Joseph Y. Zehr and the late Barbara Schmidt. A member of Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church and farmed at RR 1, Millbank, retiring in 1959; also operated a food store in Wellesley, retiring in 1972.
    Beloved husband of Nancy Steckly (Zehr) of Millbank, dear father of Katherine and her husband Cornelius Erb of Millbank, Joseph and his wife Deborah Zehr of Millbank, father-in-law of Mrs. Erma Zehr of Poole. Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by one son, Mervin Zehr, November 22, 1967, four brothers, Moses, David, Jacob and Aaron, two sisters, Katherine (Mrs. Noah) Jantzi and Barbara (Mrs. Ray Nostsier).

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 9, 1991, at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Bishop Arthur Gerber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    Memorials to Christian Printing Missions or to Christian Aid Ministries would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy, to the late Amos Zehr.

    ZEHR, Mrs. Amos (Nancy)-Peacefully, on Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at the Brunner Nursing Home, Nancy Zehr, formerly of Millbank, she was born in Wilmot township, 93 years ago.

    Daughter of the late Nicholas Steckly and the late Catherine Jantzi. Nancy was a faithful member of the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Beloved mother of Katherine and her husband Cornelius Erb of Millbank, Joseph and his wife Deborah Zehr of Millbank; ever remembered by a daughter-in-law, Erma Zehr of Brunner; sister-in-law of Mary (Mrs. John Zehr) of RR 1, Wellesley and Katie (Mrs. Ezra Steckly) of Wellesley and Emma (Mrs. Amos Steckly) of RR 1, Brunner; lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by her husband Amos Zehr, August 6, 1991; and by one son, Mervin Zehr in 1967 also by five brothers, Peter, Aaron, Ezra, Amos, and one infant brother and by five sisters, Mattie Kuepfer, Sarah Jantzi, Elizabeth Gerber, Katie and Mary Steckly.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry Street, Wellesley, where family and friends will be received today (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m. to be followed by funeral service at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m., Bishop Arthur Gerber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    BERLET'S CORNER
    Sad Death.

    The death took place last Monday morning, Sept. 21, at 8.15, of Nicholas Steckly in his 62nd year.

    The deceased had been in failing health of late and was operated upon for appendicitis about 8 days before his death. He made satisfactory progress towards recovery following the operation, but during the operations was discovered that he was in poorer shape than known. He had a weak heart and poor kidneys. The Sunday before his death a sudden change for the worse became evident and the following morning an internal hemorrhage developed and upon which he suffocated.

    He was born in Mornington, Tp. Perth county near Milverton, in 1870. In 1893 he was married to Kate Jantzi of this place where they farmed all their time.

    He was a well known and progressive farmer and took an active part in many local community affairs.

    There mourn his loss the sorrowing widow, three brothers, namely, Solomon, Peter and David residing near Milverton, two sisters, Mrs. Christian Jantzi and Mrs. Susan Steckly near Gadshill. Of his children there are four daughters, (Mattie) Mrs. Aaron Kipfer near Milverton, Sarah Mrs. Rudy Jantzi near Wellesley, (Nancy) Mrs. Amos Zehr near Crosshill, and Elizabeth at home. Two daughters predeceased him, namely, Mary and Katie, in their school years. There also survive, four sons, Peter of Lockport, N. Y., Aaron, Ezra and Amos at home.

    The funeral took place on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. when the services were conducted at the house where over four hundred attended. Interment was made at the Amish Settlement cemetery at Berlet's Corner.
