    REUTLINGER, Daniel 1909
We regret to be called upon this week to chronicle the death of one of our oldest and most respected residents. Mr. Daniel Reutlinger, who died suddenly last Friday morning at his home on King street. Mr. Reutlinger came from Baden, Germany, in 1854 to St. Jacobs and has resided here ever since that time. He carried on a coopering business in his younger days, but has lived a quiet and retired life during the past number of years. In 1857 he was married to Elizabeth Keller, who with her two daughters, Mrs. Rev. Wm. Berberich, of Peotone, Illinois; and Mrs. W. H. Winkler, St. Jacobs, mourn the loss of a devoted and loving husband and father. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from his late residence to the Evangelical church for service, thence to the Evangelical cemetery, and was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends. The deceased was a faithful church worker, taking part in the Sunday School where he taught a class for a number of years, and it was seldom, he was absent from the church meetings, where he will be greatly missed both by the pastor and his fellow church workers. Revd's Kaatz and Haist conducted the funeral service.
