    Notes:

Demise of Mrs. McGeorge - The community was sensibly shocked on Friday morning to learn of the sudden and entirely unexpected death during the night of Mrs. McGeorge, wife of Mr. Charles McGeorge, druggist. She had not been in the best of health for several years, and feeling the necessity of a change and a quiet rest, had gone to Galt Hospital Thursday afternoon, and was made comfortable, but about 3 o'clock the following morning succumbed to heart failure. Of a quiet, home-loving disposition, she was not active in any particular sphere, but had a numerous circle of staunch friends who deeply regret her sudden demise. She was born at Scotland, County of Norfolk, Ont., where she was married upwards of 40 years ago, since which time she had lived in Ayr continuously, where she was widely known and highly esteemed. Three brothers survive - James A. Freeman, Brantford, and Drs. Clark and Chas. M. Freeman in the United States. The funeral, which took place from her late residence, Hall street, on Monday afternoon to the Ayr cemetery, was largely attended, friends being present from Detroit, Woodstock, London, Brantford, Listowel and other towns. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Rev. Mr. Railton, Methodist, had charge of the services and was assisted by Rev. Dr. Thomson, Rev. J. J. Brown and Rev. Mr. Edwards (of Hamilton). The pallbearers were Messrs. W. A. Ramsay, A. E. Watson, R. S. Armstrong, A. R. Robertson, J. W. Henderson and John Q. Reid. During the funeral service all places of business were closed out of respect for deceased and her sorely bereaved husband.
