    Herchenratter, Norman - On Sunday, July 1, 1984, at K-W Hospital, after a lengthy illness, Norman Herchenratter, aged 77 years, of 247 Franklin St. N., Kitchener. Survived by his sisters, Estella (Mrs. Alvin Reinhart) and Alma, both of Kitchener and his brothers, Arthur and August, both of Waterloo. Predeceased by two brothers; his father, Conrad Herchenratter and his mother, the former Pauline Schmidt. Mr. Herchenratter was employed at Bonnie Stuart Shoes, until his retirement and was a member of the Waterloo Rod and Gun Club. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. today. Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Wednesday at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Alan Cook will conduct the service. Internment Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sunnyside Home, gratefully acknowledged.

    Conrad Herchenratter, 85, of 481 Park St., died Tuesday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in New Hamburg March 4, 1881, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Herchenratter. He had lived in Kitchener for more than 65 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and had been employed at the Dominion Rubber Company Ltd. in the tire division for 28 years, retiring in 1946. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pauline Schmidt, in July, 1959, and by four brothers and one sister, and two sons, Herbert, and Milton. Surviving are three sons, Norman, Arthur, and August, all of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Estelle) Reinhart, and Alma Herchenratter, both of Kitchener, one brother Jacob of Kitchener and eight grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Friday at 3: 30 p.m. Rev. A. A. Schweitzer of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery. Donations to the memorial fund of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Mrs. Conrad Herchenratter

    A Kitchener resident for 60 years, Mrs. Conrad Herchenratter, 75, of 481 Park St., died Friday in K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 30, 1883, she was the former Pauline Schmidt, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schmidt. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and active in the Women of the Moose. Survivors include her husband Conrad, to whom she was married June 6, 1906, in Kitchener; three sons, Norman of Kitchener, Arthur and August of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Estelle) Reinhart and Miss Alma of Kitchener; one brother, Ernest of Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. Emma King of Brantford, and eight grandchildren. Two sons predeceased her. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Monday at 11 a.m. when removal will be made to the church for funeral at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. J. N. Zimmerman will officiate.

    Carl Christian Schmidt

    A widely-known figure in Twin City circles, Carl Christian Schmidt, 83, of 133 Shanley Street, Kitchener, died today at the K-W Hospital. He was the father of Milt Schmidt, of Boston Bruin hockey fame. The deceased was connected with the Lang Tanning Co. Ltd. until his retirement five years ago. He was born April 27, 1857 in Germany and came to Canada 60 years ago. He resided in Baden for 10 years and lived in Kitchener for the past 43 years. Mr. Schmidt was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Warnholz; four sons, Ernest and Albert of Waterloo, Carl of Kitchener and Milton of Boston, five daughters, Mrs. Conrad Herchenrater, Mrs. Wm. Nutter and Mrs. Percy Hertzberger of Kitchener, and Mrs. Frank King and Mrs. Edward Sim of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Remains are at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home where public service will be held on Wednesday at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev. W. A. Lotz officiating. Internment will be in the Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.
