SHANTZ, Ronald Bruce - Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Winston Park Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Linda Shantz. Loving father of Kelly. Predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Marjorie Shantz. Dear brother of Luanne DeJesus (Johnny), Ginny Moor and June Taylor (Ian). Son-in-law of Henry and Roma Rastel. Brother-in-law of Don Rastel (Michelle) and Wendy Sutherland (Jay). Dear uncle of Raul, Miranda, Jason, Shannon, Jenn, Sarah, Kathryn and great-uncle of Angelo and Tyson. Fondly remembered by his many friends. Ronald's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 and again on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 12: 30 p.m. Reception to follow. S. E. SHANTZ is a native of the County of Waterloo, where he was educated and has since been engaged in farming. He was elected township councillor in 1901, which office he has held continually ever since. Mr. Shantz was a member of the board of health of the township of Waterloo for five years.

Weber. - Catherine, daughter of George and Elizabeth Rapp, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., in 1851; passed away May 19, 1928, aged 78 years. She was married in 1875 to Ezra Weber who preceded her in death four years ago. This union was blessed with nine children, all of whom survive. She leaves nine children (Mrs. B. Dixon, Noah, Oliver, Henry, Clayton, Reuben, Emily, Mrs. Percy Shantz, and Milton), 22 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and many other relatives and friends. For many years she was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church, devoted to its various activities. Funeral services were held at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church May 22, conducted by Bro. Oliver Snider and - Spencer.
