Loving mother to Arnold and his wife Martha of Kitchener, Jim and his wife Diane of Cambridge. She will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Clayton Rickert of Port Charlotte, Fla., Ivan Rickert of Waterloo, Earl Rickert of Kitchener and by her sister, Grace Ballingal of Waterloo. She is predeceased by her sister, Myrtle Poore. Mrs. Duench was born in Mannheim, Ont. and farmed in that area with her husband, until 1959 when they moved to Waterloo. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., will start after 7 p.m. on Wednesday (today) and continue until noon on Friday, July 22, 1988 when transfer will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church for funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment is at Memory Gardens, Breslau.

Mrs. Simon Rickert - Mrs. Simon Rickert, 75, of 140 Weber St. East, died today at her home after a lengthy illness. The former Melinda Hallman, she was born in Waterloo Township, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hallman. She married Simon Rickert at Mannheim 51 years ago and the couple farmed there for many years. She was a member of Alma St. United Brethren Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves three sons, Clayton, Breslau; Ivan and Earl, Kitchener; and three daughters, Mrs. Aaron (Pearl) Duench, Petersburg; Mrs. John (Myrtle) Poore, Preston; and Mrs. Grace Ballingall, Kitchener. Also surviving are four brothers, Josiah Hallman, Kitchener; Jonathan Hallman, Mannheim; Simon Hallman, Rosebank; Aaron Hallman, Vineland; three sisters, Miss Lydia Hallman, Mrs. Edwin Witmer, and Mrs. Isaac Brighton, all of Kitchener, 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to Alma St. United Brethren Church for the funeral at 2: 30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ward Woolner. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery.

MANNHEIM

Death of Aaron B. Hallman. One by one the old pioneers of Mannheim are passing away. Three times within the last year has the grim reaper garnered his ripe grain.

Aaron B. Hallman passed away on Friday morning last, August 1, in his 79th year. He was only confined to bed about two weeks. Old age and kidney trouble were the cause of death. Aaron, who was one of a large family, was a quiet, unassuming neighbor whom, all will miss. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, who was formerly Miss Geiger, and seven children, Mrs. Ed. Witmer, Mrs. Sam Rickert, Mrs. Isaiah Brighton, Josiah, Jonathan, Simon, Aaron and Lydia at home; also the following brothers and sisters: Joseph, Levi, Moses, Mrs. Reter and Mrs. Rellinger.

The funeral took place on Monday afternoon to the Mennonite church and cemetery. He was a consistent member of that church. The funeral was largely attended. The funeral sermons were preached by Bishops Hallman and Snyder.

Mrs. Barbara Hallman

Death summoned Mrs. Barbara Hallman Sunday morning. who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Brighton, 84 Simeon St., Kitchener. The immediate cause of death was a stroke. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from the late residence to the Latechar Mennonite Church at Mannheim where friends and relatives gathered to pay their last respects to the departed. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The late Mrs. Hallman whose husband and one son predeceased her, is survived by four sons and four daughters, namely: Josiah, Simon Jonathan, Kitchener, Samuel of Waterloo township and Aaron of Vine- land, Miss Lydia, Preston, Mrs. Edward Witmer and Mrs. Isaac Brighton of Kitchener, also 27 grand- children and 16 great grandchildren.

MRS. BARBARA HALLMAN

After an illness of only three days, Mrs. Barbara Hallman, age 84 years, died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Brighton. 84 Simeon street Death was caused by a stroke. Mr Hallman, born in Mannheim. Sept. 23, 1847, was a member of Latchar Mennonite Church, Mannheim.

Four sons and four daughters survive, They are Miss Lydia, Preston, Joslah, Simon, Jonathan, Mrs. Edward Witmer and Mrs. Isaac Brighton, all of Kitchener. Samuel. Waterloo township. ad Aaron of Vineland, Ont. Twenty-seven grand- hildren and 16 great grandchildren lso survive. Her husband and one son predeceased her.

I Henry Rueckert the Elder of the Township of Wilmot, being sick and weak of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof to the end that I may be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please my God to call me hence, have now determined to direct what disposition shall be made of my property after my decease and after naturely[sic] considering the circumstance and condition of all those among whom as my heirs at law or the objects of my gratitude or affection in my judgement my estate shall be distributed, I do make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made. And as to my wordly[sic] estate, and all the property, real, personal or mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease. I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in manner following. To Wit. Imprimis. My Will is that all my just debts and funeral charges shall by my Executors hereinafter named be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease as shall by him or them be found convenient. But this devise and bequest made on the condition that my said John Rueckert shall share and divide and pay and deliver or cause to be shared, divided and delivered the sum of money and the articles and things mentioned in a certain instrument of writing made for the purpose as hereinafter more particularly prescribed and in all things well, faithfully, truly observe, perform, fulfil and keep the covenants grants articles contained and agreements whatsoever which on the part and behalf of the said John Rueckert are or ought to be kept, done and performed as comprised and mentioned in a certain written instrument of writing made in the nature of a bond for a life maintinance, bearing date the thirty first day of December, 1853, and registered in the Registry office at Berlin in the County of Waterloo in Liber C.2 for Wilmot Folio 272, number of memorial 268. Item, I give, devise and bequeath to my heirs at law the sum of one thousand dollars to be equally divided to and among my said heirs at law and to be paid to them in the manner and form as mentioned in the said written obligation or instrument of writing by Executors to my said heirs at law as their respective share or shares respectively fall or become due, to have and to hold to them my said heirs respectively and to their respective heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, their several and respective shares as aforesaid to their several and respective use and behoof forever. But the share or shares of my Daughter Anna Reuckert share shall be and remain in the hands of my said son John Rueckert for safe keeping and shall be him be paid to her from time to time as she may be in want of or shall or may stand in need of it. Let it be the interest of her share of the money, or part of the principal sum of her share as the case may be so that she does not suffer on account of it. Item. And of all the rest and residue of my estate, real, personal or mixed of which I shall die seized and posssessesd, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I give, devise and bequeath to be equally divided to and among my heirs at law aforesaid, to have and to hold the same to them respectively and to their representatives forever. HALLMAN . - On the 13th of March, in Wilmot township, Waterloo Co., Ont., Bro. John Hallman, aged 75 years, 7 months and 12 days. Came from Pennsylvania with his parents in the year 1824; was married to Sarah Bergy in 1838; lived in matrimony 48 years; was the father of 18 children of whom 12 survive him. He was buried on the 15th at Latshaw's meeting-house where a large concourse of relatives and friends had assembled. Daniel Geiger, "the youngest of the three brothers of the Geiger family who settled in Wilmot Township, was born in Germany, March 10th, 1799. He was married to Catharine Baisiger who was born April 4th, 1811, and died April 5th, 1881. They resided near Manheim on the farm now possessed by Samuel Herner, where he died May 2nd, 1884. Their family consisted of nine children"
