    MAHER, Edgar J.R. - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edgar, on Friday, August 10, 2007 ,at St. Mary's Hospital. Edgar Maher, in his 91st year, of Elmira. Devoted husband of Kay (MacKay) Maher for 63 years. Dear father of Skip and Grace, Wayne and Connie all of Elmira. Adored grandpa of Stacey, Bryan and John. Ed is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Elizabeth "Liz" Maher of Kitchener and by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Fanny (Jensen) Maher; his two brothers, Gordon and Cyril; his sister-in-law, Mabel Maher; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Penny Berkin. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Monday, August 13 transfer will be made to the St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira for funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hans Borch officiating followed by cremation. In his memory, donations to St. Mary's Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit or The Lung Association of Waterloo Region would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 469, Elmira will assemble for a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6: 45 p.m.
