Noah Schott's Watch, Money Found Intact

Victim of a hit-and-run Nosh Schott, unmarried 63 year-old Waterloo district farm employee was found dead by the roadside on Erb St. W, Waterloo, about 6 am. today. According to Coroner Dr. A. L Wellman, Mr. Schott was killed almost instantly, Death is attributed to internal hemorrhages and dislocated neck. It is believed the victim was dead about seven or eight hours before the body was found on the highway beyond McDougall Ave., by Ervin Goodwin, 40 Erb St. W. Waterloo,

    BELIEVED WALKING HOME

The accident is believed to have occurred between 10 and 11 pm. Mr. Schott was walking to his employer's farm near Erbeville. He is thought to have attended the band concert at Waterloo Park earlier in the evening The victim was thrown approximately 66 feet but the body was found less than two feet from the side of the highway. In his pocket was $355 and a gold watch which was still running today. F Waterloo Police Chief-Moreau and Highway Traffe Oficer Mitchener of the Ontario Provincial Police, who are conducting the investigation, report no trace of the driver and only have meagre clues on which to work. It has not been determined whether an inquest will be held.

Chief Moreau's theory is that the victim was hurled into the air and landed on the shoulder of the road then rolled about 20 feet to the spot where he was found.

One of Mr. Schott's boots scraped on the bottom. Evidence from the scraped boot was indicated in a single marking on the highway where the man was hit. His hat and a cigar were found a few feet from the spot of the impact.
