    Mrs. Benny Seibert, 71 years of age, a native of Germany, but for many years a resident of Waterloo Tp., passed away at her home on Guelph street on Wednesday after an illness of about a year's duration. Mrs. Seibert had been a patient sufferer. She had a host of friends of Kitchener who will be grieved to learn of her death. The deceased is survived, by three daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. John McGoverin, Mrs. S. Bushour, Mrs. R. Hobden, Daniel Seibert and Charles Seibert.

    John Philip Saltzberger, "a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, came to Canada in 1802. He was born June 21st, 1780, and died December 29th, 1860. On September 22nd, 1805, he was married to Veronica Gingerich, sister to old David Gingerich and daughter of old Abraham Gingerich. She was born in 1781 and died in 1810. After the decease of his first wife, he was again married to Mary, daughter of John and Nancy (Bechtel) Biehn. She was the first white child born in the township of Waterloo and quite likely the first in the county. She was born April 24th, 1801, and died September 29th, 1889. They were married in September, 1819."

    SALSBERGER. - On the 5th of October, in Strasburg, Waterloo Co., Ontario, of the infirmities of old age, Sister Salsberger, widow of Philip Salsberger, aged 88 years. Her father, John Biehn, was the original settler on what is now known as the Doon property, where deseased* was born in 1801. She was a widow for twenty-seven years, and had been in poor health a long time. Her remains were consigned to the grave on the 8th at Weaver" church. In the year 1827 they, with their family of one child, emigrated to America and settled in Welland County, Ontario, nearly opposite the city of Buffalo, New York, where they resided for a little more than a year. From here they moved to Waterloo County and settled temporarily a little east of Berlin. (In the old log house that stood at the side of the road on Mr. Jas. Brubacher's farm, along this marsh where now Peter M. Weber resides). From here they moved to Wilmot Township and settled on lot No. 4,(Farm now possessed by C. Deitrich) Upper Road, where they resided until their family had arrived at maturity. When old the parents made their home with their son, John, who resides at Petoskey, Michigan, where she died in August, 1870, and he died in 1876. To them was born a family of six children".
