    __________

    DEATH OF MRS. EDWARD DERMUL.

The death occurred about six o'clock last evening, of Mrs. Edward Dermul, at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 9 days. Deceased, whose maiden name was Sophia Engel, was born in Saarbruecken, Rhenish Prussia, on May 26, 1847, where she was married in 1865 to Peter de Rue, a teacher of languages in one of the colleges. In 1875 her husband died, leaving her with one child, a son. In 1882 she was married to Edward Dermul, and the following year they emigrated to America. After a short stay in New York they came to Canada, and lived in St. Jacobs until 1893, when they came to Waterloo, and have resided here ever since.

About six months ago, Mrs. Dermul took ill with heart trouble, and, though she recovered a little at times, the disease gradually took a stronger hold and death came peacefully at six o'clock last evening.

Deceased was a woman of a very cheerful disposition and was highly respected by all who made her acquaintance. She is survived by her husband and one grandchild.

The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of her husband, corner Queen and Princess streets, to St. John's Lutheran Church for service, and thence to Mt. Hope cemetery for interment.
