MRS. N. KNOEPFLI

Mrs. N. Knoepfil, 51 years of age, wife of J. A. Knoepfil, manager of the York hotel, died Monday night in a local hospital. Members of the Calgary Lions' Club will attend the funeral in a body, Mr. Knoepfil being a prominent member of that body. Mrs. Knoepfil leaves two daughters, Enid and Iva, and one son, Allen, all of Calgary; one sister, Mrs. Allen Chapman, of Kitchener, Ontario; and a brother, I. Cressman, of Okotoks.

Cressman. - Mary, widow of John C. Cressman, formerly of High River, Alta., was born Oct. 17, 1856; passed away at the home of her daughter, Kitchener, Ont.; aged 88 y. Surviving are one daughter (Ida - Mrs. Allan Chapman), 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Wellington and Frank Horlacher, Pigeon, Mich.), and one sister (Laura Horlacher, Long Beach, Calif.). One daughter (Nina - Mrs. J. A. Knoepfli) and one son (Ivan) preceded her in death. For more than a score of years she was a faithful member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. MRS. MARY CRESSMAN

The death of Mrs. Mary Cressman, widow of John C. Cressman, formerly of High River, Alta., occurred early this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allan Chapman, 168 Benton St. She was 88 years old. She was born Oct. 17, 1856, and attended the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Allan (Ida) Chapman of this city: five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; two brothers, Wellington and Frank Horlacher of Pigeon, Mich.; and a sister, Miss Laura Horlacher of Long Beach, Calif. One daughter, Mrs. J. A. (Nina) Knoepfli, died in Calgary, Alta., and a son, Ivan, died in Okotoks, Alta.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at the First Mennonite Church at two o'clock with Bishop C. F. Derstine officiating. Interment will be in the First Mennonite Cemetery. Remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Thursday when removal will be made to the church where friends may pay their respects until the time of the service.

DEATH OF MRS. HORLACHER

Mrs. Elizabeth Horincher died at her home in this village Friday afternoon after an illness of about two months.

Elizabeth Lutz was born in Ontario seventy-eight years ago. In 1857 sha was united in marriage to Henry Horlacher who died in 1881. Ten years ago she moved to this village and resided here since that time. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. John Cressman and Mrs. Milo Cressman, of Alberta, Mrs. James Bell, of Long Beach, Cal.; Laura and Carrie, of this village; three sons Wellington and Frank, of this village and Edward, of Onadago, Mich. A short funeral sermon was held at the house Sunday afternoon and on Monday the remains were taken to Plattsville, Ont., where they were laid to rest on Tuesday morning beside those of her husband.

Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Horlacher, Frank Horlacher and the Misses Carrie and Laura Horlacher accompanied the body to Plattsville.

On June 21st, 1814, he was married to Mary, daughter of Christian and Elizabeth (Erb) Schneider. She was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, June 9th, 1794, and died near Strasburg, Waterloo County, Ontario, May 19th, 1864. He died December 29th, 1871. To them was born a family of twelve children".

On the 29th of December, in Waterloo county, Ontario, Abraham Cressman, aged 82 years and 16 days. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends and relatives on the 31st to Eby's burying-ground. He was a beloved brother in the Mennonite church.

The fourth daughter of Joseph and Barbara Wismer, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, January 12th, 1790. In 1818 she came to Canada and settled in Waterloo County. On October 3rd, 1818, she was married to John, son of John and Anna (Showalter)Cressman. He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 15th, 1795, came to Canada with his parents in 1808 and settled in Waterloo County, a little below Freeport. After their marriage they moved on the farm now possessed by the heirs of the late Jacob Zeller, about one mile south of Breslau. Here they resided until his death which took place June 30th, 1840. After his decease she continued farming until her youngest son, Henry, had attained the age of manhood, then the farm was sold and the mother made her home with her daughter, Barbara, who was married to Samuel Cressman, where she died September 2nd, 1881. Their family consisted of five children"
