    James Andrew Sharp was born in 1765 in Scotland, Occupation Farmer and cabinet maker. He married Betty Brown (born in 1768 in Scotland) on June 02, 1798, in Edinburgh, Scotland. James and his wife Betty arrived in Canada in 1818 with their fours sons, John, Horace, Andrew and James. Ann infant son named James had previousley died in Scotland.

    They purchased the Homestead along the Grand River near Glen Morris in1826. The boys [John, Horace, Andrew and James) along with their father built a log cabin on the farm where they livied for over thirty years. In 1860 it was replaced with a stone house.

    James died in 1840at the age of 75 and is buried possibly in Galt, Ontario. It is unknown where Betty Brown died. Burial possibley in Galt, Ontario.
