    Joseph Stauffer, "twin brother to Jacob, was born August 15th, 1802. He was married to Rebecca Rosenberger who was born August 16th, 1801. Soon after their marriage they moved two miles west of the town of Waterloo, on the farm now possessed by their son, Levi. Here they resided and enjoyed life until death removed them. He died October 13th, 1880, and she died May 28th, 1882. To them was born a family of five children"

During the early part of the present century they moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County. In 1834 while residing in Beverly Township, Wentworth County, they took the cholera and both died of that dreadful disease. Their family consisted of twelve children"
