GALLAGHER, Margaret Irina (nee Arch) It is with deep sorrow that the children of Margaret announce her passing on October 15, 2016 in her 96th year. Born in Streetsville, Ontario on December 11, 1920, the eldest child of William (1985) and Frances (1963) Arch. Beloved wife of Fred Gallagher whom she married in June 1942 and who predeceased her on July 10, 1992. Loving mother of Keith (Sigi), Maureen (Dale Grein) and Sue-Anne Gallagher. Grandmother to Tim Grein, Jessica Wiebe and Adam Wiebe. Great-grandmother (GG) to Logan Grein and Amara Wiebe. Predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt to many. Throughout her life, Margaret was an avid member of Girl Guides reaching the position of District Commissioner of Peel until 1966. The Gallagher's moved to Baden in January 1967 after purchasing the Baden Hotel. Marg and Fred ran the hotel from 1967 to 1976, retiring to Hope Bay and Pompano Beach. After Fred's death in 1992, Margaret continued to reside in Hope Bay and Florida until 2000 when she moved to Kitchener to be closer to her children. For the last six years, Margaret lived at Highland Place, Kitchener. Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 9: 30-10: 15 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 10: 30 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Streetsville Cemetery at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Martin Luther Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
