    WANNER, (Warner) Elsie

    On Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at St. Luke's Place, Elsie Wanner, 91 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Roy Wanner of 63 years. Dear mother of Wilfred Warner of Cambridge, Bruce Warner and his wife Rosemarie of Kitchener, Floyd Warner and his wife Betty of Cambridge. Gilbert Warner and his wife Doreen of Cambridge, Joyce Snider of Kitchener and Gladys and her husband Lloyd Penney of Cambridge; dear grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her infant brother; grandson. Rick Warner; daughter-in-law, Gwen Warner and two sons-in-law, Carl Prong and Ross Snider. Mrs. Wanner was an avid gardener. She was loved dearly by her family and will be in their hearts always. Mrs. Wanner is resting at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, from 7-9 p.m., this evening (Monday) and 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, in the auditorium at St. Luke's Place. The funeral service will be held in the auditorium, at St. Luke's Place on Tuesday afternoon, at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at Wanner Cemetery.

    A resident of Waterloo Township for the past forty-three years, on Tuesday, October 30, 1951, in his 75th year. Husband of Pearl Fiddaman. He was born in Puslinch Township. Mr. Plant attended the Evangelical Church in Hespeler. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Elsie (Mrs. Roy Wanner) of R. R. #1, Hespeler; one brother, Henry Plant of Owen Sound; two sisters, Jean (Mrs. George Furness) of Owen Sound; Mrs. Nellie Lantz of Toronto; and six grandchildren. Service at the Stager-Russ Funeral Home, Galt St. , Hespeler on Fri. , Nov. 2 at 2. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.

    PLANT, ROBERT "DADDY"

    The death of the well known Salvation Army soldier, "Daddy" Plant occurred on the night of Thursday, March 9, 1911, aged 81 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was a resident in this locality for half a century. He was born in Ireland and came to this country when about 30 years of age. "Daddy", as he was generally known, was a favourite with everyone. He was of that genial, good nature that all good Irishmen are noted for. He followed the occupation of farming. He always took a great interest in the Salvation Army, marching in ranks up to the time he took ill five weeks ago. He leaves his wife and seven children, John, William and Thomas, in Hespeler; Henry in Owen Sound; James in Oregon; Mrs. William Lantz in Hespeler; and Mrs. Furness of Hepworth. The funeral was held with Salvation Army honours and was conducted by Captain Hunt and Rev. Beese on Sunday at 2, from his residence on the Guelph Road to Hespeler Cemetery.

    Daniel Bergey, "son of Henry and Elizabeth (Cassel) Bergey, was born in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, April 22nd, 1815. On December 23rd, 1838, he married to Mary, daughter of Isaac and Barbara (Yoder) Souder. She was born November 5th, 1817. In 1855 they with their family of four children moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County. They resided in Berlin where he died December 29th, 1894. They had a family of five children, one of which was born in Canada.
