    Kropf, Earl, son of John and Mary Ann (Lichti) Kropf, was born May 12, 1920; died at the Listowel, Ont., Memorial Hospital, May 22, 1958; aged 38 y. 10 d. On Aug. 31, 1949, he was united in marriage to Selina Lichti. Surviving are his wife, one daughter (Rose Marie), 3 sons (James, Peter, and John), all at home, his parents of Wellesley, Ont.; 3 brothers (Mervin, Bamberg, Ont.; Clarence, Kitchener, Ont.; and Elton, New Dundee, Ont.), and 6 sisters (Irene-Mrs. Menno Albright, Petersburg, Ont.; Barbara - Mrs. Elmer Roth, Britton, Ont.; Idella - Mrs. Alvin Leis, Wellesley, Ont.; Janet - Mrs. George Rush, Kitchener, Ont.; Burnetta - Mrs. Ralph Ruby, London, Ont.; and Mary - Mrs. Steven Gingerich, Zurich, Ont.). He accepted Christ as his Saviour in youth and remained loyal to the end. Funeral services were held at the Riverdale Mennonite Church, Milbank, Ont., May 25, in charge of Menno Zehr and Orland Gingerich. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Millbank - Earl Kropf, 38, of Millbank, died at Listowel Memorial Hospital early today.

    In ill health for six months, he had been in hospital for 10 days.

    Mr. Kropf, son of John Kropf and Mary Ann Lichti of Wellesley, was born near St. Agatha May 12, 1920.

    He married Selina Lichty of Millbank at Riverdale Mennonite Church, Aug. 31, 1949.

    Mr. and Mrs. Kropf lived in Wellesley for two years where Mr. Kropf operated a shoe repair shop.

    They moved to Millbank in 1951.

    Mr. Kropf was employed at the Hergott furniture plant in St. Clements.

    Surviving are his wife, his parents, three sons, James, 6, Peter, 5, and John, 2, one daughter, Rosemarie, 8; three brothers, Mervin of Bamberg, Clarence of Kitchener, and Elton of New Dundee and six sisters, Mrs. Menno (Irene) Albright, Petersburg; Mrs. Elmer (Barbara) Roth, Briton; Mrs. Alvin (Idella) Leis of Wellesley; Mrs. George (Janet) Rush, Kitchener; Mrs. Ralph (Burnetta) Ruby, London, and Mrs. Stephen (Mary Ellen) Gingerich, Zurich.

    The body is resting at the home in Millbank where a private funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. Public service will follow at Riverdale Mennonite Church at 2: 15. Internment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Menno Zehr and Rev. Orland Gingerich will officiate.

    John R. Kropf of 32 Queen St. E., Wellesley, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, at his home, born in Wellesley Township 87 years ago, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel Kropf. Dear husband of Mary Ann Lichti; beloved father of Mervin of Route 3, Wellesley Township; Clarence of Kitchener, Elton of Holstein, Barbara (Mrs. Elmer Roth) of Waterloo, Idella (Mrs. Alvin Leis) of Route 1, Wellesley, Janet (Mrs. George Rush) of Kitchener, Bernetta (Mrs. Ralph Ruby) of Chatham, Mary Ellen (Mrs. Steven Gingrich) of Zurich) also survived by 33 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; predeceased by one son Earl and one daughter Irene, four brothers and five sisters. Friends may call at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon Tuesday, Dec. 3, when removal will be made to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2: 30. Rev. Vernon Zehr and Rev. Jacob Roth will officiate. Internment will follow in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be shown by contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society.

    John R. Kropf, 87, of Wellesley, died Sunday at his home.

    The deceased was born in Wellesley Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel Kropf.

    He was a member of Mapleview Mennonite Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ann Lichti; sons, Mervin, Route 3, Wellesley; Clarence, of Kitchener; Elton of Holstein; daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Barbara) Roth of Waterloo; Mrs. Alvin (Idella) Leis, of Route 1, Wellesley; Mrs. George (Janet) Rush, of Kitchener; Mrs. Ralph

    (Bernetta) Ruby, of Chatham; Mrs. Steven (Mary Ellen) Gingerich, of Zurich; 33 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

    The body rested at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley until Tuesday when removal was made to the Mapleview Mennonite Church for the service at 2:30 p.m.

    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

    I Henry Kropf of the Township of Wilmot, Yeoman, being sick and weak of body…My Will is that my just debts and funeral charges shall by my Executors hereinafter named, be paid out of my Estate….My will is that my beloved wife [unnamed] Kropf and family, shall continue to farm my farm, situated on Lot number fourteen, south of Erb's road in the Township of Wilmot, where I now reside, until that my eldest son become to be the age of Twenty one years (or so long as she shall continue to be sole) and in case of her death or marriage before my eldest son become of age, then my said farm shall be let by my said Executors, until my eldest son become of age…and when my eldest son arrive at the age of Twenty one years, then my said farm shall be appraised by six impartial neighbors, chosen by my Executors for that purpose, and then if my said wife can give to my eldest son, his share of his legacy after the appraisement being so made, then my said wife may continue to farm the said farm, until my second son become of age, and so on till the youngest of my sons becomes of age, always paying them their share as they become of age…but if she cannot so pay my eldest son his share or legacy, then my eldest son may and shall have my said farm (if he so chose) to himself, by paying over the other heirs at law and my said wife equal shares according to the appraisement made, and if the eldest son do not so like the said farm, then my second son to have the same chance as the eldest son hath in taking said farm, and so on to the youngest of my sons, and if neither of my sons will take the said farm, then shall the same be sold and the proceeds thereof to be equally divided amongst my said wife and children, as shall then be living, share and share alike, and so soon as one of the other of my sons shall so take the said farm, then shall my Executors hereinafter named build a house for my said wife, 24 by 23 feet in size, and put up a Stable for her at the expense of my Estate, and take out two acres of land for her on my farm where ever my Executors may select to have and to hold the same to her, for and during her natural life; And also in case of my said wife's death or marriage, or in case of one or the other of my sons taking my said farm, then I will that my personal property, to be sold and divided share and share alike amongst my said wife and children then living; And the share of my Real and Personal Estate thus, bequeathed to my Beloved Wife [unnamed] Kropf to be in lieu of her Dower at Common Law, if she shall so elect. Provided always that if one of the other of my children do not obey or give hearing to my said wife, or Executors after her death, in all cases whatever, that child or children shall only be entitled to one half of a share of the share coming to him or her, till he or she give hearing or obeying, as aforesaid, then to have his or her full share, but only in case of obeying as aforesaid, and in case that they don't obey then the said one half share to be divided equally amongst my said wife and children And also, I do direct and my Will is, and I do appoint that my said dear Wife shall have the Guardianship and tuition of my children, which I shall leave at the time of my decease, during their minority, so long as she shall continue to be sole; and in case of her death or marriage, during the minority of such my children, then I will and appoint that my Brother David Kropf shall have the tuition and Guardianship of them, during such their minority; and in case of his refusal or decease, I will that my other Executor, John Gasho, shall exercise the said Guardianship. And earnestly entreat their utmost care, respectively, in and about the morals and education of my children, such as may survive me, and desire that they may be brought up and instructed in the doctrines and religion of the Mennonite Association. And I do nominate and appoint my Brother David Kropf and my much esteemed friend John Gasho to be the Executors of this my Last Will and Testament.

After her decease he was married to Catharine Kesselring who was born October 28th, 1857. No issue of first marriage, but of second marriage there are seven children."

    Herner.-- Samuel. S. Herner was born near Blair, Ont., and died near Mannheim, Ont., Nov. 30, 1909, at 1: 30 p. m., of heart failure and instant pneumonia while sitting up in the rocking-chair. His death was very unexpected. His mind was strong till the last and he left a bright hope of the future. His age was 66 y. 3 m. 5 d. Funeral services were held at the Latshaw Church, Mannheim, on Dec. 3. Services were held in two places, church and school house. It was a very large funeral. He taught school in Waterloo Co., Ont., for 33 years, and was in the ministry for some years. Funeral services were conducted by Pre. Backus from Philadelphia, and Pre. S. Swartz, Text, II Tim. 2: 4-8, this being the last text of the deceased, he having preached from it two days before his death, in his home church.
