    Peacefully, at the Sunnyside Home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Rape) Eby. Dear father of Hazel Keating (Bruce) of Shelburne, Lois Sawyer (Mike) of Tottenham, Benjamin Eby of Wallaceburg, Daniel Eby (Lise) of Ottawa, Cindy Jackman of Brantford and Patricia Daniells (Mike) of Waterloo. Sadly missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother and two sisters. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunnyside Home (Riverside Neighbourhood) for their wonderful care. The family will receive their friends for visitation from 2 - 3 p.m. (Saturday), at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Homes-Waterloo Chapel, 617 King St. N. Waterloo (across from Home Depot). Memorial Service in the Chapel on Saturday, December 15th at 3: 00 p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation then Interment Wanner Mennonite Cemetery.

    Of Morgan Avenue, Kitchener, on Monday, Dec. 21, 1992, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Mary Rabe, beloved wife of David Eby, in her 54th year. Dear mother of Ben of Ignace; Dan of Timmins, Hazel (Mrs. Bruce Keating) of Orangeville, Lois (Mrs. Mike Sawyer) of Brampton, Lucinda (Mrs. Tom Jackman) of Brantford and Pa-tricia Dantells of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by seven grandchil-dren; two brothers, Claude Rabe and John Rabe, both of Cambridge and three sisters, Beatrice (Mrs. Ward Dettweiler) and Margaret (Mrs. Cyril Derbyshire), both of Cambridge and Helen (Mrs. Edward Crowther) of St. Clements. Predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lucinda Rabe; one brother, Roy and one sister, Dorothy Metzger. Mrs. Eby was born in Waterloo township and was a K-W resident, since 1985. She was a past president of the Waterloo and Ignace Lioness Clubs. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queeston Rd., Cambridge today (Tuesday) from 7-9 and Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral and committal services will be conducted by Rev. Eric Rempel, at Wanner Mennonite Church, Beaverdale Road, Cambridge, on Thursday, Dec 24, 1992, at 2 p.m.

    Eby, Clayton, son of the late Moses and Esther Eby, was born Oct. 11, 1904; died at the South Memorial Hospital, Galt, Ont., after a brief illness, Sept. 17, 1957; aged 52 y. 11m. 6 d. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in youth, united with the Mennonite Church, and remained a faithful member until death. On Oct. 2, 1934, he was married to Serena Shantz. To this union were born 4 children, 3 of whom survive (David, Gladys, and Richard). One grandchild also survives. Funeral services were held at the Preston Mennonite Church, Sept. 20, in charge of B.B. Shantz, Howard Good, and C. N. Good. Interment in the Hagey Cemetery

    Rabe, Henry, son of John and Elizabeth (Jahn) Rabe, was born in Waterloo Township on Sept. 26, 1902; died at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, Sept. 10, 1972; aged 69 y. 11 m. 15 d. He was married to Lucinda Wilhelm, who preceded him in death on May 27, 1962. A sister also preceded him. Surviving are three sons (Claude, John, and Roy), five daughters (Beatrice - Mrs. Ward Dettweiler, Dorothy - Mrs. Vernon Metzger, Margaret - Mrs. Cyril Derbyshire, Mary - Mrs. David Eby, and Helen - Mrs. Edward Crowther), a brother (Clarence) and 32 grandchildren. He was a member of the Wanner Mennonite Church, Hespeler, Ont., where funeral services were held on Sept. 13, in charge of Merle Shantz and Herbert Schultz; interment in Wanner Cemetery.

    Shantz.- Daniel Snyder Shantz, son of the late Henry and Lydia (Snyder) Shantz, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., April 13, 1868; died after a lingering illness in the KitchenerWaterloo Hospital, Jan. 11, 1944; aged 75 y. 8 m. 29 d. September 28, 1892, he was united in marriage with Susannah Catherine Groh who preceded him in death, June 5, 1924. Two daughters also preceded him (Lauretta Alzina, in 1915; and Elva, wife of David Jantzi, in 1941. He is survived by 2 daughters (Malinda, wife of Aaron Biehn, Guernsey, Sask.; and Serena, wife of Clayton Eby, Preston), 4 sons (Ivan, Preston; Floyd, Foam Lake, Sask.; Sylvanus, Strasburg; Lloyd, Hespeler), 21 grandchildren, 4 brothers (William and Ananias, Kitchener; Alvin, Waterloo; Samuel, Breslau), and 2 sisters (Mrs. Leander Snyder, Parkway; Mrs. Henry Feick, Doon). He became a member of the Mennonite Church in March, 1891, and was ordained deacon of the Hagey Mennonite Church in 1907, in which capacity he served for 36 years. Funeral services were held, Jan. 14, 1944, at the Hagey Mennonite Church with B. B. Shantz and J. W. Witmer in charge. Burial in adjoining cemetery.

    Rabe.--Elizabeth Jahn was born July 20, 1872; died at the home of her daughter near hespeler, Ont., Oct. 31, 1927; aged 55 y. 4 m. 11 d. In 1894 she was married to John Rabe, to which union were born five children, two dying in infancy. She leaves a sorrowing husband, one daughter, two sons, and three sisters. In her early married life she united with the Mennonite Church and departed this life loyal to the faith of her Master. The funeral was held on Nov. 3 at the Cressman Mennonite Church. Breslau, Ont. Ministers who conducted the services were A. B. Snyder and Oscar Burkholder. Text, Jno. 6: 63

    Death of Christian & Wilhelm

    The death occurred on Monday, May 24th, of a well known and highly esteemed resident of Northern Wilmot in the person of Mr. Christian S. Wilhelm, at the age of 72 years and 11 months. The deceased suffered a paralytic stroke on the preceding Wednesday, which caused his demise. The late Mr. Wilhelm was a son of the late Valentine Wilhelm and was born on the homestead where he spent his whole life. He was mraried [sic] twice. His first wife, Mary Luckhart, died thirty years ago. He is survived by his second wife, nee Catharine Koch, and 14 children, seven of whom are from his first union. The children are Samuel of Hawkesdale, Alberta; Mrs. L. C. McDonald, Hamilton; Solomon, Sarah and Herman, Whitby: Mrs. H. Hingler, Mrs. Theo. Gruetzner, Hanover; Wellington, Nelson, Lily and Alice at home, and Edna of Lisbon. The funeral was held last Wednesday and was largely attended. Rev. Mr. Anderson, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which denomination deceased had been a lifelong and faithful member, held the services in the Shantz Mennonite Church and interment took place in the adjoining cemetery

    Mrs. Christian Wilhelm

    The death took place quite suddenly on Monday of this week of Catharine Koch, widow of the late Chr. S. Wilhelm, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 4 days. The deceased was a valued member of the Baptist church and was highly esteemed. She was born at Lisbon, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Koch. She was married in 1895 to Christian S. Wilhelm, who predeceased her four years ago and resided since on their farm near Philipsburg.

    There are left to mourn her demise three sons, Herman, of New Hamburg, Nelson, and Wellington at home, and four daughters, Mrs. Henry Rabe, of Breslau and Edna, Lillian and Alice at home. She also leaves two brothers, John Koch, of North Easthope, and Harry Koch, of Kitchener. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1.30 o'clock to the Shantz Church and the Wilhelm Cemetery. The funeral will be in charge of Rev. Mr. Dale, of the local Baptist church.
