    Jonas B. Snyder, "was born May 26th, 1827. On July 16th, 1850, he was married to Nancy daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Rosenberger) Stauffer. She was born January 15th, 1834. They reside on a farm, being part of the old homestead, situated along the Woolwich Township line."

    Another of the old pioneers of this district passed away in the person of Jonas Snider resident between here and Bloomingdale. After a long illness, he passed away on the 14th inst. at the age of 81. He was married in 1850 to Anna Stauffer, who, with 5 childrn, 2 sons and three daughters, survives him. The funeral was held last Saturday.

    John Snyder, was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, March 1st, 1800. In 1806 his parents, Jacob and Mary (Erb) Schneider moved to Canada and settled near Bloomingdale where Mr. Snyder was raised. On May 14th, 1826, he was married to Judith (No. 1045), daughter of John and Hannah (Bergey) Bingeman. She was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, December 8th, 1807, and died January 28th, 1880. After their marriage they moved several miles north of Bloomingdale where they resided until their deaths. He died February 19th, 1893. "

    SNIDER - Feb. 19th, 1893, in Waterloo, Waterloo Co., Ont., near Conestoga, Bro. John Snider, of infirmities of old age, aged 92 years, 11 months and 18 days. Bro. Snider was born in Franklin Co., Pa., in 1806 he emigrated with his parents to the neighborhood where he died. Entered into matrimony with Judith Bingeman in 1826 who preceded him to the spirit world 13 years. They had a family of 11 children, of whom 9 survive them, also 31 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Buried on the 22d at Snider's meeting house where a large number of relatives and friends met to pay their last tribute of respect. Appropriate remarks were made by Bish. Elias Weber and Noah Stauffer.

Soon after their marriage they moved two miles west of the town of Waterloo, on the farm now possessed by their son, Levi. Here they resided and enjoyed life until death removed them. He died October 13th, 1880, and she died May 28th, 1882. To them was born a family of five children"

    Jacob (Yoch) Schneider, "the seventh member of his father's family, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, January 24th, 1764. In 1790 he was married to Mary, daughter of Christian and Mary (Scherch) Erb (No. 2777). She was born March 2nd, 1766 and died in Waterloo County, Ontario, near Bloomingdale, August 27th, 1835. In 1806 he, with his wife and family, his brother Christian and family, and others, moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County. Old Yoch, as he was generally called, settled on the east bank of the Grand River, near Bloomingdale, on the farms now possessed by Benjamin S. Snyder, Josiah S. Snyder, and Rev. Menno B. Bowman where he was engaged in farming and acquiring real estate so as to be able to give a large farm to each one of his children. His family consisted of ten children and were all married save one, and resided within the same neighborhood. He died February 6th, 1853,."

    Jacob Snider: The Last Will and Testament of Jacob Snider, late of the Township of Waterloo.

    I, Jacob Snider, Sr. of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, being of sound and perfect mind and memory…I give and bequeath to all my sons and daughters, share and share alike, all my freehold and personal property of what kind and nature soever, except my farm, Levi Bechtel now living on for which I hold the deed for which is Lot No. 69 in Waterloo aforesaid, the said Levi Bechtel is to have the benefit of the said Lot during his natural life, then the said lot is to fall to his children, and all the share and shares arising out of my property after my decease which falls to my daughter Magdalene, wife of Levi Bechtel and will remain for the heirs of daughter Magdalene, except for the yearly interest, which Levi Bechtel was to have during his natural life. Should my said daughter Magdalena die, and Levi marry again, he should still have the benefit of the farm, but not the interest of any money out of the estate. .Further, I order and desire and it is my Will that the share that falls to 'my' daughter Elizabeth Snider shall remain on interest during her life, for which interest my daughter Elizabeth Snider shall be kept during her life with good and sufficient meal and drink, washing and lodging and other things necessary for her comfortable support during her life, and after her death, her share is to be divided amongst the other sons and daughters, except Magdalene, wife of Levi Bechtel, who is to have the interest or he as long as he does not marry again, and after hid decease all shall fall his children the heirs of my daughter Magdalene, the Lot No. 69, which I hold the deed will be seen by the receipts after my decease aled also notes signed by Levi Bechtel as well as by others so that all my estate will be made equally share and share alike as before mentioned, always to save her share for her and her children only the benefit of the farm during his natural life and the interest of all moneys till he married again, then that is to be stopped for his first children…And I do nominate, constitute and appoint in full power, as my own person, my son Christian J.     John Bingeman, "who was born in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, March 15th, 1783. On November 3rd, 1805, he was married to Hannah, daughter of Abraham and Esther (Shantz) Bergey. She was born December 16th, 1787. In 1825 they with their large family moved to Canada and settled near what is now Bridgeport, Ontario. The following summer they moved on the east side of the Grand River. This is now in possession of Moses Kraft, one of their grand-children. He died October 18th, 1854, and she died June 11th, 1868. To them was born a family of fourteen children".

    A-1-46 John Bingeman: Administration to the Estate of John Bingeman, formerly of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, deceased, granted anede issued the 11 November 1854 to his widow Hannah Bingeman, after giving proof that her said husband was dead and dying intestate on or about the 18th October next before, and on her giving surety herself and in the person orf Jonas Bingeman, of the aforesaid Township, Yeoman, and Elias Snyder, of the same place, Yeoman, each in the sum of £500/-.     On the 11th of June, in Waterloo Township, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, of apoplexy, HANNAH, widow of John BINGEMAN, aged 80 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Her maiden name was Berge. She was a native of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She lived in wedlock forty-nine years and in widowhood nearly fourteen years, was the mother of fourteen children, nine of whom are still living, and leaves ninety-five grand-children and eighty-two great-grand-children. She was buried on the 13th in Ch. Eby's burying-ground. A funeral sermon was delivered by Pre. G. R. Smith from Eph. 2: 1, 5, and by Pre. Joseph Hegy from Rev. 14: 13.
