    YANKE, William John - Passed away, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Beloved husband of Doris for 62 years. Dear father of Carol Filipowitsch (Helmuth), Lynne Hare (Ron), David Yanke (Rachel) and Richard Yanke. Proud grandfather of Lisa, Mike, David, Julie, Sasha, Michel and Anya. Great-grandfather of Morgan, Lily, Taylor and Brittany. Bill proudly served his country in the Second World War in the Signal Corps. He retired from Uniroyal after 45 years of service and could enjoy his summers at the trailer in Sauble Beach and winters in New Zealand and Florida. He was a dedicated member of the congregation of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Kitchener, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Listowel. Bill Yanke is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. West, Kitchener, where friends may call on Friday from 2-4: 30 p.m. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Dwarka officiating. A reception will follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
