    RARE COIN IN POSSESSION OF OLIVER S. KOLB

    In addition to collectors of rare coins given in the last issue of the Chronicle there are still others who possess old coins.

    Oliver S. Kolb, popular veteran resident of Breslau district possesses some coins dating back over 100 years. They include a coin dated 1833 with inscription "To Facilitate Trade" and shows a plough and sailing vessel. Then there are several English coins dated 1788 and 1812, a half penny of 1814 portraying the, Duke of Wellington, a half penny of Nova Scotia dated 1832, 1820, 1837 and French coins.
    An English coin in possession of Charles Wunder, Waterloo, during reign of King George III. is dated 1703, while there are French coins dated 1855.

    Historic Building:
    Jacob Kolb contructed this house now demolished some time after 1981. It started out as a small log house, later a room the full length of the house was added and a new roof applied. Logs were covered with frame and the hold house was stuccoed. It was passed down from Jacob to Tobias then to Joseph, then to Oliver

    Kolb.-Mary A. Montgomery was born at Woodlands, Man., July 17, 1876; died in the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital on June 8, 1926. She was married to Oliver S. Kolb at Roden, Man., on Dec. 19, 1893. An adopted child, Raymond Oliver, predeceased her about 14 years. She leaves her sorrowing husband, three children (Jacob, Grace, and Eva) three brothers, three sisters, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held from her home near Breslau, Ont., June 11, to the Cressman Mennonite Church for services and adjoining cemetery for burial. The services were conducted by U. K. Weber of Kitchener. Text, "Let not your heart be troubled."

    Mrs. Oliver Kolb

    Mary Montgomery, beloved wife of Oliver Kolb, passed away on Tuesday morning of last week at the K.-W. Hospital. About six weeks ago she underwent an operation and although showing slight improvement, succumbed to her illness. She was born in Woodland, Manitoba, and was 50 years of age. She leaves her bereaved husband, one son Jacob of Kitchener, and two daugters, Grace and Eva at home. There also survive three brothers and three sisters, namely James A. Montgomery of Ukiah, California, William of Livermore, Cal, Leo of Calgary, Alberta, Mrs. Alex. Patterson, of Grand View, Man., Mrs. John Brothers, Weslaco, Texas, and Mrs. Chas. Talkington, of Long Vale, Cal. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon from her late residence to the Cressman Mennonite church for services. Interment took place in the adjoining 'cemetery.

    Tobias Kolb, "was born August 11th, 1810. On November 21st, 1833, he was married to Magdalena Bechtel who was born April 2nd, 1815, and died September 11th, 1866. Soon after their marriage they moved on the old 'Kolb Farm' on the west side of the Grand River, opposite Breslau, Ontario. During the last years of his life he was totally blind, thus causing more or less anxiety to his children who took care of him. Even in his unfortunate state (blindness) he was happy and contented and was waiting for the Lord's appointed time to remove him from this world unto the Kingdom of Glory. He died April 11th, 1894. His family consisted of eight children"
