    SCHAEFER, Velma B. - Peacefully, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Home, on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, with her family by her side. The former Velma Bernice Wickens, aged 80 years. Loving mother to Brian and his wife Deb of Simcoe, and Linda Reidel and her husband Wayne of Kitchener. Cherished Nanny to Michael and Cathy, Jennifer and Rob, Jackie and Nick, Craig and Laura, Kristen and Camilo. Great-grandmother to Paige and Nathan Schaefer. Sister-in-law to Lucille and Greta Wickens. Predeceased by her parents, Burton Wickens and Bertha Dobson; her husband, Kenneth in 1995; two sisters, Mildred Filsinger and Arlene Dunnill and three brothers, Kenneth, Mervin and Everett Wickens. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. W., Kitchener today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Bev Williams officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Donations may be made to Parkinson Society Canada as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.mem.com.
